Seriously, people, it's time to let go of the idea that athletes can always return to their glory days. It's simply not realistic and is nothing short of lunacy.
As much as we would all love to see our favourite athletes continue to dominate, the reality is that time catches up with everyone, and physical decline is inevitable. It's essential that we stop expecting them to continue to perform at the same level indefinitely.
It's time for some of you to face the hard truth that Farah's glory days are behind him and there's no chance in God's green earth of Farah reclaiming his former greatness in the twilight of his career. Holding onto the hope of a comeback is nothing but a futile exercise in denial.
The sooner you let go of unrealistic expectations, the better you can move on to celebrate the generation currently at the helm.
