Megan and Brie F. are living great lives. Brie is pursuing a PhD and is engaged to a guy with a bright future. Megan is married to a very successful businessman (former basketball player) and has a young family. They have found happiness post-running. More power to them. Megan is also very pro-traditional American values and I appreciate that.
She needs to openly support JK Rowling first. JK spoke first and everyone just turned away while she was crucified. Now a lot of people are saying way more than she did on the nonsense of trans women competing against biological women

I'm unaware of JK Rowling's athletic record. Or her ever discussing trans women in sport. People want to make this an anti trans issue or a political issue but it should be neither. Its a simple fact of genetics that one born male has an advantage over one born female in training and in competition. The opposition to restricting women's sport to those born xx makes an emotional argument. These individuals feel most like women or something else, so to respect their dignity, they want their feelings respected. The best way to combat this is to replace the MENS division with the open (everyone is allowed) division. Races are already starting to dilute prize purses with a third division, which is nearly always swept by those born xy. Too many women are just getting started on speaking up and making arguments based on a political view when it doesn't address the argument of those who feel they belong in the women's division. I'm glad Megan spoke up, but I'd like to see more women still in the sport and who aren't heavily involved in the conservative movement speak up too.
I wouldn't be one to agree with Megan Burke on a lot of things, but I remember her from HS and I'm glad she's speaking up on this issue as more women need to. It's an incredibly uncomfortable thing to do, because (at least for me) my stance on this issue aligns me with some unsavory characters.
I want trans people to exist and thrive. I want them to get gender affirming medical care, use public bathrooms that align with their gender identity, have their pronouns and names respected and honored, and I want them to participate in all activities from drag shows to (with restriction) sports.
But I want sports, especially at a high level to be fair to cis women and put necessary restrictions in place to honor fairness over inclusion. And I don't think it's right that cis women have to compete against trans women because it isn't fair. I want locker rooms, especially public locker rooms, to at LEAST have more private changing areas so that cis women won't be made to feel violated or uncomfortable for inclusion. I agree with JK Rowling that cis women's spaces are vital and important in these two areas especially.
What I wish is that more people felt this way, and I guess it's subjective, but so quickly it devolves into "trans people are deviant and shouldn't exist." The language on the right towards trans people is actually really scary, dehumanizing, and demeaning. Can we have a fair conversation about trans women in women's sports without it always ending in dehumanization of trans women entirely?
What guy gets off beating up on girls in some sport? This really is ridiculous and needs to be stopped as soon as possible. No buddy of mne will play on some girls team, what a wimp.
So PED usuage is a no no because of an unfair advantage, what the hell is this trans stuff?

It is increasing. There are more and more stories of trans women competing at very high levels in women's sports. It's a blatant unfair advantage.
A dude just won the Canadian indoor 1500m women's masters event.
Typical LRC discourse on trans athletes. Yes, avrom, on these boards trans women athletes are treated with derision. They are misgendered, called predators, perverts, sociopaths, hucksters, cheaters…. or dudes. If you are looking for a group that has empathy for trans people and generally respects their rights, but just has issues about how to fairly include trans women athletes in competitive athletics, best to look elsewhere.
I have not followed this closely. I am aware of the swimmer she mentions. But she says:
"Increasingly, trans athletes are dominating women’s sports at all levels."
Is this really the case? What percentage of women's sports are now made up by trans athletes?
Just last week, a Vermont HS basketball team with a trans player made all the way to the 2nd round of the state play-off. That's after their 1st round opponent forfeited the game.
Good for them on the forfeit. And that's liberal Vermont. It blows my mind that feminists for 50 years fought tooth and nail for women's rights and now on the 50th anniversary of Title IX we are letting biological men play women's sports.
We are also denying reality. The phrase "a trans woman is a woman" is minformation. I prefer, "A trans woman is a trans woman."

The school in question was the Mid Vermont Christian School
Their mission statement: The mission of the school is to glorify God by preparing students for college and for life through a program of academic excellence established in Biblical truth.
Clearly a super liberal institution.
#sexnotgender…..Yes, you are winning hearts and minds, Rojo.

More from your hero school….
“Earlier this year, Mid Vermont Christian School submitted a letter to the state Agency of Education seeking permission to receive public tuition funding while also asserting that it reserved the right not to follow all of Vermont’s anti-discrimination laws. “As a religious organization, the school has a statutory and constitutional right to make decisions based on its religious beliefs, including hiring and disciplining employees, associating with others, and in its admissions, conduct and operations policies and procedures,” Fogg wrote in the Jan. 5 letter. “By signing this form, the Mid Vermont Christian School does not waive any such rights.” To the extent state laws conflict with the school’s beliefs, “including on marriage and sexuality, the school has not included that language in its handbook or online, nor can it affirm that particular aspect of the Vermont Public Accommodations Act.”

Dudes don't belong in women's athletic events. You are not a wise old man. You're a fool. Shame on you for thinking it is fair. That's the issue.
It isn't really a "yawn" for those of us here who have highly competitive, athletic daughters.
In 2022, I was at youth Nationals (in a non-running sport) with my youngest daughter. She is a young, liberal-minded, unbigoted kid but even she was unhappy to see that the 2nd and 3rd place finishers in her sport were both boys who identified as girls --- 2/3 of the podium at nationals was made up of transitioning boys.
At Nationals, there were "only two trans-girls competing" which is the Liberal way of saying, "it doesn't matter." Yet you could also say that every single trans-girl in the competition ended up on the podium. Nobody thinks this is just a coincidence, right?
I have no problem with those kids as kids, but as athletes, it is just not okay to knock girls off the podium. How do they not know and understand this? That is what surprises me.
