The team SEC title is a big deal, and the kids want to run as much as possible. Especially at Arkansas where we win A LOT of team titles.

if you're not willing to do your part to win a conference championship for your team, try to go pro or try to find a school that doesn't care about winning meets

Sorry but this is a terrible take. As a college athlete, doubling/tripling at conference is a ton of fun. You're racing for medals/titles and 95% of athletes are ending their season right there so might as well go all in.
800m/1500m runners should be the ones used in all the relays
