Comments:
Well that was a weird week. Went to the doctor for my yearly physical on Monday and got the works (tetanus shot, covid booster, and bloodwork). Got a rough fever and headache the next day and had to take an impromptu day off. The rest of the week was just general running to recover from being sick.
Felt awful before the race but accomplished our game plan (Conservative through 3k and then move for final 2K) and came away with a new personal best in the 5k by about 41 seconds. Afterwards I jumped into my buddy's workout to return the favor for him pacing us through 2700m. Workout was super easy and I was knocking out 34's and 33's like clockwork.
Full recap on this reddit post here: Happy to have that monkey off my back but definitely expected to be in this kind of fitness considering how the last couple weeks have gone. I'm happy to be done with indoor this year and I'm sure as heck sure my foot is also relieved about that.
