As a regular viewer of the site, it seems curious why there wasn't any homepage change to commemorate a WR in a distance event. @Rojo, what's up there?

Look at the threads of this site.
Here is an extremely talented Ethiopian runner that is even younger than their Nuguse and Jakob that have done an historic result and none seems to care about.
At best they will say age cheat.

Katir broke the indoor and outdoor European records of the 3000m in the same time.
The previous was made by A. Mechaal.
And an even older European record was made by M. Mourhit (Aouita discovery of end 80s).That's a lot of documents to investigate for someone like CoEvett.
Not 100% sure what you mean, but it doesn’t take any digging to find that Mourhit was suspended for EPO use in 2002.

What is a reasonable time to expect for the steeple with this kind of flat speed?
Is it reasonable to expect that he is in world record shape? Its only 30 seconds difference- not sure if the barriers ought to add more or less time than that.
Some guys can race the 3000sc as close as 20-25sec from their 3000 PB so we can expect the 3000sc WR to fall this summer indeed.
Indoors doesn't mean much now. Look at Bekele. He has the indoor 2,000m and 5,000m WRs from when indoors actually meant something, so on a modren indoor track he would of easily gotten this WR
We see in this video "Mounir Akbache" encouraging Lamecha Girma and congratulating him at the end.
Looks like a second or third generation Algerian in France, completely ignoring the exploit of Katir.
