All I can say is that there are other regions deserving of 2 bids over California. It is such a shame that there are teams overlooked and California gets to use their state meet at their NXR- stupid
A lot of posts on here have been reported as "factually incorrect" but we have not deleted them as we don't follow the CA HS scene and don't know what is factually incorrect. If you want to email us about something you know to be factually incorrect, please do so at letsrun@letsrun.com.

California put their state meet where it is long before NXN or its predecessor NTN was even a thing. Are you suggesting that NXR and NXN should be later so that the California teams have to race in some sort of western regional?
You're never going to get a true national championship as long as each state does it's own thing
California has a lot of good teams, more depth than any other state by far. Plenty of years one of the California at-large teams did incredibly well at NXN. Due to the size of NXN, there will always be a few teams left out that were deserving, that's just how it goes. There are teams from California that don't finish in the top 4 in the ridiculous state merge that would auto-qualify from other regions, that's just how it is.
Emmanuel Perez and his team can go to NXN. He’s 1 and 2 with Emmanuel Hernandez and they have incoming transfers who will add lots of depth to an already dominant team. I think they’ll do something special this year.
Cathedral is only losing 1 senior from their top 5. They also add another incoming junior who ran in the 9:40s in the 3200 in track
They also has Ambodai Ligons who ran a 1:51 800 and hasn’t done Xc.
Is he doing xc this year? If so how will he do?
Did all of those transfers move (change residence areas), or will any of them be ineligible for varsity at the beginning?
And how many impact transfers are there?
I think Liggons will be as much of a factor in cross as the guy that finished right ahead of him at this year’s state 800…..if he runs, he’ll be a solid D4 guy, but won’t affect Cathedral’s NXN chances.
watch out for Agoura... state title may be coming
That would be awesome if Cathedral qualifies for NXN. I don’t think they ever qualified for it before
Having a solid 1&2 is always helpful. Cathedral needs their 3-5 to come together when it matters as well
Cathedral CA returns
Perez - 15:05 5k - 12
Hernandez - 15:13 5k - 12
Skarr - 16:21 5k - 12
Guerrero - 16:39 5k - 12
Moreno - 16:54 5k - 12
Fabila - 16:58 5k / 9:49 3200 - 11
Fabila is a transfer from another school but this list doesn’t include additional transfers
California needs to state meets.
Private school
Public school
Why?
Imagine thinking that not having an NXR and doing at the State meet is an advantage for CA.
We currently have 5 different divisions, we need more?

Wow it must be bad if you have that great of a program with arguably the top girl in the country who only finished her Sophomore season and you are stepping away.
Private schools recruit.
Public schools take within district.
Cathedral and Cathedral Catholic D4 and D3 can pull and have all star team competiting against public schools.
Private needs own division or double enrollment so there's competitive equity.

Colin, Aaron, Nico, Leo, Lex + transfer Brayden Seymour all were coincidentally in the same Newbury Park High School district?
Public’s soft recruit too through media stardom and open enrollment e.g. Newbury, GO, etc. over the years, etc. totally silly and lots of privates are so small they can’t even field full teams in CA.

This.
Oakdale finished 4th in the state power merge this year after picking up a guy who went 9:29 as a sophomore. They picked up another guy this track season who ended up going 9:29
Those two guys will likely be their #1 and #2 as they try to repeat as D3 champs (which will be tough after graduating Daley and C. Cavanaugh.
The vast majority of private schools in our area are terrible at distance, with the few exceptions of the ones that are great (Jesuit, St. Francis)
