M1500 is right on and makes sense. M3k is too slow. Maybe 2:29 is fine to start but then it slows down and leaves a lot to do the last 1k, even if they reach that, which I doubt. Not a lot of races have sub-5 2k pacers these days. Otherwise, the men's 3k indoor looks a little soft (as does M1500), relative to recent performances--too many have come within several seconds of it for it not to be on its last legs. I see Ndikumwenayo as most likely in this field to get the record if he is sharp. The W1500 with Tsegay always goes out too hard but she set this record and can beat it. It is still nearly 3 seconds shy of the outdoor record, and so beatable.
