I have run both races in the past. I think they changed the finish a little this year but it's elevation should still be the same. Nearly all of the elevation drop is in the first half of the marathon. From the year I ran, the elevations were:
Marathon start: 2082
Mile 5: 1659
Mile 10: 1450
Mile 13: 1361
Mile 15: 1326
Mile 20: 1250
Finish: 1201
There is about a 100ft climb in mile 6 before dropping again. Ther drop in the second half is consistent and barely noticeable. Yes, this is an ideal course to get the HM standard, slightly downhill and (usually) perfect weather.
