The en route 1500/3000m is taken in most top level mile and two mile races nowadays, I believe.

Some but I wouldn't say many, especially not indoor. Check the big miles from the weekend and they didn't post a 1500. It is most common for high school races because state associations run 1500 amd 1600.

that's where some of the other 1500s on the ncaa indoor all time list come from like Schweizer. You can use an official en route 1500m time from certain pro meets qualify for us championships etc
