I received an email stating they had it in the works and that a USATF certifier would also be there on race day should any issues arise to make sure it is certified

I only recently saw this thread. For years I have run and lived in Jersey City and know the roads well. To call this course fast is, of course, misleading promoter's hype.
By my count, there are 35 90-degree turns including 4 in the first 2 miles. All 5000 plus starters cannot run the tangent on the narrow streets of Downtown Jersey City. The hill at 6 plus miles (past the recently demolished Liberty Park Diner), the hill past the Linden Ave car pound (8 miles), and the one going up Garfield Ave past the junkyards (19-20 miles), can be a problem. There are also several places where the road surface isn't good.
The event will not be a "sh*tshow." Dan Brannen knows how to measure and certify courses, and the folks at Compuscore are good at tabulating results. Everyone will be happy with their "huge finisher's medal" and "custom t-shirt." Just don't expect a fast, flat, easy course like those at Jersey Shore and Atlantic City.

More observations to follow.
The website says 228 ft elevation gain. I presume that’s for each loop. 455 for a full marathon is relatively flat, though not a pancake course. Good notes on the turns.

How many of those are seed times and how many of those are goal times? #55 has never broken 2:25 in the marathon, for one.

If those are mostly seed times, that's a heck of a field. Anyone know if these runners got anything beyond comped entries?
