I don't remember there being a law that if Bolt came back, he would have to run the 100 and 200 again. I don't think he could compete at a top level again in those events either. But what about the 400? With his stride length and physicality and proper training, who knows? Endurance runners generally last longer at the higher levels of the sport and while the 400 is hardly an endurance event, there is an aerobic component that is higher than the 100 or 200. I always wanted to see Bolt train for and contest a 400 (maybe even an 800). Perhaps it is not too late to see that.
Yes. Give the LRC’ers what they want: Bolt vs. the world in 800m.
Followed by bolt vs some NFL, NBA or Premier League guys in a random event or two.
He may not be competitive (who knows, really), but it would raise the interest level in the sport and certainly put some money in people’s pockets. Properly hyped, this is prime time TV stuff that would get every kid in the country excited about track.
But… we won’t. Because we’re serious track and fielders and hate having any sort of creative fun. The sport must remain boring!
If only Lance kept his mouth shut, everything would have been fine. The USADA didn't actually have any positive tests from all it's "competent and non-corrupt" testing.

didn't he do some embarrassing 800 attempt a few years ago?
It’s been so long that he might be practicing to just look like a pro sprinter so that he can do more TV ads to make up for the money lost to fraud.
TO went broke after earning $80 million in his career and still pops up in things like the Fan Controlled Football league just to make some coin. Bolt may be in the same boat.
Since Kipchoge is still setting marathon world records at 45 years old, I don't see why Bolt couldn't make a comeback and still be competitive.
It’s all about the different systems being used. Your fast twitch muscles and the mind body connection needed to run super fast start to leave you in your late 20s/early 30s. Your aerobic system and muscular endurance can keep developing for a lot longer than that.
Although Kipchoge is on top in the marathon, he would probably have a hard time winding up a kick and being competitive even during a world class 5k or 10k these days.
too talented to not do some damage and make good appearance fees. 37 yo isn't that old , especially since EK is well above 40 running well
Sometimes I wonder how some of you got through school. Maybe this is why I didn’t have to study. Eliud Kipchoge, whatever his age, has virtually NOTHING to do with Usain Bolt. IF some of you cannot grasp this, it is difficult to know where to start.
I think the more obvious answer is that he's just having some fun and working out. No way he trains anywhere near like he used to, but I doubt he doesn't show up to the track now and then, do some drills and a few reps just to blow off steam and get some exercise in.
ppl saying bolt is too old at 37... ever hear of justin gatlin??
Gatlin is much more germane to the conversation than Kipchoge BUT Gatlin didn’t have a long layoff like Bolt has and his fastest after turning 38 was 9.98. Bolt is finished and whoever mentioned the 400m…no chance.

Bolt is way too tall and heavy...too much wind resistance for an 800. 400m is definitely possible though, Bolt originally started as a 400m runner. He would need some ungodly anaerobic capacity to make up for his loss in speed though.
