This is just a e-crutch for B-level posters. If you don't have the moxie to stand by every word you typed before you select Post Reply, you shouldn't be posting here to begin with.
Great feature, but what's the point of stating the name of the poster and the time of edit at the bottom? The name and time of posting are already included in the post. Cleaner to just say "edited"
Agree. It would be nice to be able to see what the original post said. Not sure about the font changes. Maybe a link that shows a popup of the original text?
This post was edited 14 seconds after it was posted.
We asked what you all wanted on LetsRun.com in 2023 and one thing was the ability to edit posts.
That is now a feature.
If you are registered you can edit your post for 15 minutes after you post. You then have 15 minutes to make your edit.
This should help people who make typos, and simple mistakes. **** Also behind the scenes we now have a new system for admins to attach messages to posts and threads. So for example, if a thread discusses suicide, we can quickly add mental health resources to a thread. This used to be a very cumbersome process.
Related to this, if a thread is getting out of hand or going really off topic, we can warn people that certain types of posts will result in removal and/or ban instead of removing the thread.
Thanks to Erik for prioritizing these things and for all of you for the suggestions (and being a part of our community.)
Pretty handy. Folks who don’t know grammar or can’t think clearly can now use this feature to improve their posts.
