Idk if this will get Hobbs into Milrose but if someone were to scratch(likely), he should be next in line.
If they had wanted Hobbs in Millrose, he would have already been on the list..seriously? You think that wouldn't have happened? Drew Hunter is making that field instead of Hobbs?
I am not positive, but I think a bunch of that list are Ray Flynn guys..not 100% on that though?
Plus that would have been shipping east three weeks in a row.
Boydon redshirt frosh(eligibility wise) ran outdoors in 2021 for Stanford
So what? Kessler is a professional. A pro should be running faster than collegians.
Kessler’s lackluster performances last year and this year prove that he made a terrible decision turning pro right out of high school and joining that B rate track club in Ann Arbor. Sure, training with Nick Willis a couple years ago when he Kessler was in high school was cool, but now Nick is too old and retired, and all the other guys on that team are B level runners who are slower than him. He should be running for NAU or Stanford, where there would be guys who could push him in training.
Hobbs, if you’re reading this, please get your butt to Flagstaff or Palo Alto ASAP. If you don’t, you will be Drew Hunter 2.0.

Sorry Stanford Rules, but a multi-million dollar contract as a 18 year old runner says otherwise.
I suspect that you will be soon be "eating crow" for lunch. He is still only 19 years old, enrolled in college, and his future is just as bright as it was two years ago.
BTW, I will bet the every single person on the VNTC (including probably all the women) could likely mop the track with your singlet at any distance.

Your post just shows how little you know or how this works. And I always love a different point of view.
Kessler has run 5 times faster than anyone from Stanford in that race and he is 19, he has 4 of the top 5 all time U20 1500 marks, plus a 2:16.x 1000M and a 1:46.x, when he was 19.
No one, not one guy has done that. Do your homework at least. Plus, the deal he got,is not a Drew Hunter deal, it is exponentially better.
Last year , which people on here are so stupid to think he underperformed at? He ran 3 more marks at U20 than any other guy in U.S. History. Plus, other than Centro winning a gold medal? Willis has won two, you would direct him to whom? Clayton Murphy's coach? He is 19 turning 20, not one guy has run that fast other than Ryun?
So, in your miopic world, he should go where no one could beat him? Beadlescomb ran IN the system and ran 3:52, 7:42 and 13:17, not a good enough training partner? Oh and 1:47 , I would say well rounded enough? On last years NCAA list? 5 guys, most way older ran faster than his 3:57.10 mile. When he was still 18.
Kessler ran 2:16.x 1000M, you know how many U20's have run faster ever? 5..Look it up. The wasteland that is Stanford? How many of those sure fire stars have run great? At least look it up.
Listening to guys like you make me feel not only smarter, but historically sounder. Give up. He would have improved? Where NAU? Please. Stanford? How did they do with.......Hausers..Gabe Jennings? What did he run? 3:35? You know why I go , on and on? Because guys I know, who do know...say you are a homer and not educated enough to know, WHAT it looks like.

Yes, Kessler is doing just fine and had a solid first pro year considering the hype and pressure. You don't need to rip on college programs to make your point. Jennings won the Olympic Trials in 2000, not exactly a flop. Kessler has a much higher ceiling but it isn't because he didn't run in college - it's because he's just better and most likely will be MUCH MUCH better.

Outside of the haircut, Hobbs looks like a grown ass man running next to his wimpy teammates. Expect him to be cooking with gas once he realizes he can run with and beat the best in the US this year.

Please, Stanford has produced more Olympians than anyone else, including the very B level track club.
Let’s look at Kessler’s 1500 progression:
2021: 3:34
2022: 3:36
2023: 3:39 equivalent
Obviously trending in the wrong direction. If he’s smart, he will relocate to Flagstaff or Palo Alto immediately.
