I'll give it to you, I can see why you would think that's Scott. Know you're making me unsure.
I don't think Scott was competing in the '80s, but it sure looks like how I remember him from the few times I saw him in the '70s. And still can't reconcile him wearing full UO kit in the '80s.

I've never seen Scott run. I have spoken to him many times face to face, mostly about music.
My brother tells me he trained with Scott and Kardong in the summer of '71, which must have helped him beat Scott that fall in XC. My bro was/is ridiculously talented but hated or at least disliked running and I think that was the only summer he actually trained. He thought me a fool to train as hard as I did to run comparatively mediocre. In my 40s he suggested that I move from running road races to the 800/mile and I ended up with regional masters state records and titles and national medals.
Younger bother Russ was the first fast runner I ever saw, he was kind of my idealized runner my first year, as he effortlessly dispatched everyone else in our conference. He literally looked like a rock star and their whole team were the "cool kids".
Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle...solved the conundrum!
I looked up the OP's video, didn't see any Oregon singlet in the main pack, and was about to click away when they switched to Greta Waitz and guess who was shadowing her in Oregon green!

Good old Scott, always hobnobbing with The Greats!
I guess my old memory banks are still functional, at least as far as recognizing old school runners, if not, in this case anyway, in following their post-collegiate running!
It is important to remember digital penetration, which he was found guilty of, is rape.
I realize that they found him guilty of it...but I'm seriously asking, do you REALLY believe he did that?
Yes. I believe that it is very rare that people are found guilty of things they didn't do. Combine that with the known, and not disputed, Goucher kiss on the plane I think he is a dirty guy used to getting his way.
Daggatt ran both 1981 (2:25) and 1982. The video thumbnail from the OP is from 1981, the video itself is 1982. The bib numbers don't match for anybody from the race to the official results, which are seven digits. Not sure why and really don't care. It is 100% certainty Scott Daggatt to the right of AlSal in the OP thumbnail.
