Everybody in here is dunking on Rogan and attacking arguments he didn’t even make. OP completely misrepresented what was said but no one even bothered to watch an 8 minute clip? Really?
The point was that in a sport where everyone is doping, the top guy will be the one who has the best genetics and is working the hardest.
And who dopes the best and who then responds to the drugs. It doesn't follow that the best clean athletes will be the best doped ones. You get some super responders and some under responders.
This guy ('Slowerrr') also spends most of his day on the 'no genetic superiority' thread, arguing that Kenyans have bigger nostrils and have a special adapatation for 'clearing the water jump' after thouands of years of hurdling buffalo.
Joe Rogan is a juice head himself. 90% of UFC fighters doped in the past, and when testing was introduced, b level fighters like Bisping became champions, and dominant fighters like Chris Weidman and Johnny Hendricks fell off a cliff. This despite MMA requiring thousands of techniques to master, unlike running. In the UFC, one geographic region did not dominate doping, leading them to dominate the sport - unlike running.
Kipchoge would not be a sub 2:08 runner without EPO. Bernard Lagat would not have been a sub 3:35 runner without EPO. African doping caused participation levels and motivation among Western runners to fall through the floor in the 90's and 00's.
The science is clear East Africans have a genetic advantage to run liner distances like the marathon. Why is there even a debate. Until you get a Caucasian wanting to be 95lbs at 5’4 to race a marathon you’ve got no shot on a mass scale which is why clean Kenyans dominate even when you take out the dopers.

You can't take out the dopers. If there are Kenyans competing there are dopers in the race. They are proving that with every bust.
The same guy who said a local community looked like “planet of the apes” because of the # of black folks there? Then said that’s not racist remark, it’s something he said as a comedian? On his non-comedic podcast? That guy?
Why the **** would anyone care what he thinks about anything?

On top of that, I would also say that even if 'everybody is doping', it doesn't mean that the best would be the best if nobody was doping, good responders or not.
'Everybody dopes' can mean two completely different things. It can mean all the top athletes are doping. Or it can mean even the guys who aren't at the top are doping too.
Most people here can't distinguish between the two.
So you get the doping apologists saying stuff like - 'it doesn't matter if El G doped, everybody else was doping too'. That may have been true in that all the guys he was competing with were doped out of their brains too, but it still doesn't mean that if there had been better testing in his era, the podiums might not have been completely different.
In the multiverse universe in which there is still no testing for EPO, here are the results of the 2022 World Championships men's 1500m final : 1. Katir 3:23.5 2. Elijah Manangoi 3:23.7 3. George Manangoi 3:24.5 4. Mario Garcia 3:24.7 5. Elhassane Moujahid 3:24.9 6. Asbel Kipsang 3:25.6 7. Teddese Lemi 3:26.0 8. Unkown Algerian 3:26.5 9. Centrowitz 3:26.8 10. Asbel Kiprop 3:28.9 (*note : Jakob won multiple gold medals in the xcountry ski at the winter olympics. Josh Kerr has represented Scotland at rugby over 50 times. Jake Wightman was eliminated in the heats. Stewert McSweyen is an Australian professional cricketer. There are heated debates on LetsRun as to who is the greatest 1500m runner in history - El G or Manangoi (with a few claiming that Katir has already surpassed both with his Tokyo/Oregon golds and 3:22.0 WR).
Note that in the above universe, most of LetsRun are in agreement that 'EVERYBODY DOPES, so Katir is still the GOAT'.

I doubt Katirs PR changes even if they don't test for EPO.....
We like to talk about dopers being sophisticated and 2 steps ahead of the testers. But it turns out most dopers aren't in some fancy program. They are winging it. It wouldn't be too shocking to learn that someone has a much better cocktail combo than their competitors... t&f isn't some tour de France team with million dollar budgets. It is some random coach telling his athlete to shoot up x cause it works.
Surprising how many people would accept doping as long as it's authorised by everyone. I can't happen to find it, but an old article of Sport Et Vie (french sport science and sociology newspaper) has pointed that doping isn't just a threat to the doper, but also to their closest ones. Someone on steroid is more likely to be violent, paranoid, and wields oh so happily wields more strengh to assault everyone. Citizens and athletes both have a right to live and compete in a doping-banned world, else every doped sportsman should accept to be emprisonned and to be walked like a dog on competition day... Who volunteers ?
Also, as an amateur, I cheer for those who I identify to. If doping becomes legit, what am I to do ? Trade my health for a hobby ? Would you encourage your children to take up a sport that will encourage them to ruin their health ?
