Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) blocked a school safety bill introduced by Republicans but supported by members of both parties hours after chastising the GOP for allegedly doing nothing to prevent gun violence...
Those who pray might have greater respect for human life than those who don't pray, and lack of respect for human life is a big part of the violence problem in the USA.
What specifically do you recommend to prevent such shootings, er, pray tell.
Umm, f-ing less guns helps! Some of us are freaking tired of the “Thoughts and Prayers” crowd that refuses to admit that we’re NOT safer with more guns in our country.
And some of us are tired with the facile ridicule of people of faith. Regimes and entities that were or are agnostic, atheistic, or otherwise opposed to traditional religions have been, by very, very, very, far, the biggest killers of innocent human beings in history. Hitler (had plans to kidnap Pope Pius XII), Lenin and Stalin (repressed Jews, Catholics, Russian Orthodox Christians, and others), Mao (instituted atheism), and Margaret Sanger (founder of what became Planned Parenthood - opposed the teaching of Catholicism, Protestantism and Orthodox Judaism) had a huge role in the deaths of hundreds of millions (Sanger especially).
My point is that in some of these cases of gun violence, a basic discounting of human life is involved, whereas people of faith usually try to have some regard for others, a regard that criminal shooters often lack.
Further, many proposals of the gun control advocates seem likely to do little to prevent crimes while sometimes preventing legitimate defense of self or others.

FYI: Germany was very much a Christian nation when they legally voted Hitler into office.

Time to stop f--king around here. When you are 6 years old the only place you get these ideas are from your deadbeat parent/s. Get this kid away from them so they have a chance in life.
More evidence that if this nation ever wanted to do something about it's issues in society, vetting for suitability of parenthood would be top of the list.

Who voted for Hitler is not well understood according to the article linked below. Here's a big excerpt:
"[R]esearchers disagreed on who precisely was radicalized to vote for the Nazis. Sociologist Seymour Martin Lipset wrote that the typical Nazi voter was a middle-class self-employed Protestant who lived on a farm or in a small community. By contrast, sociologist Richard F. Hamilton concluded that the upper classes (white-collar and self-employed Germans) were the bedrock of Nazi electoral support.
Germany suffered from hyperinflation in the 1920s and began sliding into economic depression in 1927. The gross national product of the Weimar Republic contracted by a quarter; unemployment soared and incomes fell dramatically. Support for the Nazi Party, less than three percent of eligible voters in 1924, rose to 31 percent in July 1932, 27 percent in November 1932, and 39 percent in March 1933.
The new statistical analyses by King and his coauthors show that the two groups most affected by the Depression followed separate political paths. The unemployed turned primarily to the Communist party, which catered to them with a program calling for community property. The working poor, including independent artisans, shopkeepers, small farmers, lawyers, domestic workers, and family members of the working poor, disproportionately supported the Nazis. These groups responded positively to Hitler’s denunciations of big business and government, promises of intensive development of Germany’s own economic resources, support of private property, and plans for expropriation of land from Jewish real estate owners and resettlement of the landless in eastern Germany. Hitler’s support was higher in Protestant areas than in Catholic regions, in part because the Catholic church strongly encouraged the faithful not to vote for the Nazis, and in part because the church ran relatively well-financed social welfare programs."

Chicago has the strictest gun laws.
Seems like "Gorp" was talking about less (fewer) guns, not local gun laws. Oh wait, he was talking about "f-ing less guns".
So, do you have any evidence that Chicago has f-ing fewer guns? Otherwise, your post is irrelevant.

Please refer to the subsequent post on atheistic, agnostic and other regimes or entities that were against traditional religions and which slaughtered enormous numbers of innocent human beings.

This argues against your main theme, doesn’t it? Nazi Germany was only 1.5% atheist:
From Wikipedia: A census in May 1939, six years into the Nazi era[1]and after the annexation of mostly Catholic Austria and mostly Catholic Czechoslovakia[2] into Germany, indicates[3] that 54% of the population considered itself Protestant, 41% considered itself Catholic, 3.5% self-identified as Gottgläubig[4] (lit. "believing in God"),[5] and 1.5% as "atheist".[4] Protestants voted for the Nazi Party and made up its membership more than Catholics did.[6][7][8][9][10]
