That would have been interesting. I've watched a ton of his videos. It seems like some of the interviews are like therapy for the people on his channel. Most of the people he has on his channel have lived far more interesting lives than me. Laita gives a voice to many people who never get heard. So many of the people start saying they had a pretty normal childhood and then talk about they were raped or beaten or their parents were addicts. They don't recognize their childhood was not normal, but it was normal to them.
The LA episode was the only one I needed to hear. 12 year old logic, wait - 10 year old logic. I do try to get any medical or geopolitical info from former wrestlers though. Impresses the chicks at my CrossFit and my buddies at the gun club.
Comedians are the only guests I avoid- so I haven't seen Norton. But why listen to a comedian talk life, when I can instead hear a legitimate expert in a field?
I have watched a few episodes but find the whole format cringey. Joe asks unresearched, uneducated questions to people and then they answer. He has no base of knowledge to even challenge their answer in a meaningful way. Prefer when the interviewer has some knowledge of the topic he is asking about... the whole "I am a typical uninformed American asking questions" format is kind of a waste of time.
As a non American, the gay frogs Jones one was a good way to pass time on a long drive.
Others I’ve enjoyed - Mat Fraser, John Danaher, Dan Carlin, Lex is always a great guest, out of the ex military guys I think Jack Carr is always the most interesting, Joe talking about comedy is usually the worst…
