Yeah there's def no corrupt cops in Italy lol. I'm guessing you've never been there
Obviously but not the level of certain other countries which shall go unnamed.
By the way, in May 2022 I was unfortunately stopped by two policemen in Nairobi, Kenya, and had to empty the contents of my wallet ostensibly because I was walking around without my passport. It was a stark reminder that Kenyan policemen are very underpaid which leads to this type of incident. If I had not complied I would have been in the custody of Nairobi police, in an overcrowded Nairobi police cell with all sorts of people, probably not very good company. I’m not dissing Kenya by the way, but just pointing out that in some countries policemen are so grossly underpaid that they have to resort to this type of thing to make a living wage. It was a scary incident.
The level of corruption in Third World countries like Kenya is difficult for the majority on this board to imagine. I had similar things like this happen to me in the Ukraine, which is still probably only half-way between Africa and the West when it comes to corruption.
Refreshing. We need more elite runners to speak out against all those cheats and their coaches and enablers!
Not all coaches are complicit in cheating and in fact I would vouch to say that the majority of coaches are above board with only a small minority encouraging their charges to take faster methods to reach the top. This is the problem with people’s mindset with regard to phenomenal performances in athletics with so many people thinking automatically that the athletes who have reached superlative performance necessarily have to take illegal methods to reach that level. Wanders, Gressier, Fisher, Mo Ahmed, and many others have shown (presumably with no evidence to the contrary) that the highest levels can be reached above board.

Agreed. Jimmy is a hero. I would have liked to have seen some elite (non-Kenyan) runners give their views on whether or not Kenya should have been banned. I guess they have to be somewhat restrained with speaking out against doping, as perhaps they could get into trouble with sponsors, not to mention the awkwardness of having to compete against these runners and share locker rooms with them. Although the dopers should be wary of sharing locker rooms with Jimmy, lol.

Yes, fortunately that was the end of Makhloufi.
Makhloufi still posts on Insta, and looks like he is involved in children's charity which appears Nobel.
Did you know that Muslims are expected to give 10% of their income to charity and poor people? In fact one player for Morocco apparently gives all his income to charity -Al Hamdullilah!
Let us all embrace each other whether Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Mormon, Zion, etc ..there is room for everyone and we can all learn from each other. Thank you.
Oops, I forgot Agnostics and Atheists...good luck to them also. The main thing is to try to be a good person in life with good actions - not just words. Words are easy, but what counts are good actions and deeds

I don’t care if he was the Arab version of Mother Theresa. A cheat is a cheat. Please cease your rationalization.

Makhloufi disappeared from the scene, but there was never any closure on his case and never any conviction or resolution with regard to all the rumors. Was he a cheat? Possible but never proven. It’s a pity there was no follow up on this whole debacle regarding Makhloufi, A phenomenal runner in his own right similar to the legend Peter Snell in physique.
Maybe so about Katir. I do like the fact that he didn't know much about the lactate meter in that recent sweat elite video. Those really handy with needles, I find more suspicious, if, that is, they don't put all their training and lives on camera for all to see.

Apart from all the red flags earlier in his career, he literally did not race for almost 3 years, then comes back at the age of 31 to beat Jakob, Wightman, Kerr, and win silver in Doha behind Gentleman Tim.
Manangoi comes back still in his prime after a 2 year suspension, training like a dog (still with Tim and the rest it appeared), and runs consistently 7 or 8 seconds slower, and the same doping apologists who don't regard Makhloufi as suspicious say that's normal.

Makhloufi was definitely suspicious and there is no denying that. I'm just surprised that the case closed down as it did without any closure and that was my point. I get the feeling that he just disappeared quietly. Not sure how he will spend the rest of his life and how he is regarded in Algeria? Do you remember Saidi Ali Sief? Another Algerian at the top of the world, around 2000, who was eventually convicted of wrongdoing? I think he also disappeared from the scene quietly. Not sure if both those guys are still involved with track and field in Algeria or pursue other endeavours?
