He's been successful and so has Athing Mu. Should equal a new record coming her way. But now I'm curious who would win in a 400 M flat between Mu or Sydney. It's not a specialty for either athlete.

Great move - she and Syd will both run 47low next year, breaking Koch's record and done CLEAN, like ALL of his athletes. Then she can obliterate Kratch's record going out in 53 and coming back in 56 (for the first sub-1.50 for women.).
On the bright side, maybe Kersee can coach her not to run so wide on the 1st lane every single time.
Yes, Kersee will definitely do that. He is very focused on little details like that.
Mu's Texas A&M coach let's his athletes figure our how to run races however they feel like it which isn't good.
But on the other hand, Texas A&M has 800 training down pat, and Kersee has very little 800 experience. Hopefully Kersee teams up with someone who has experience training 800 runners at a high level.
This does bode well for getting our two best 400m runners into the event for a shot at the world record. It would be even better if McLaughlin joins Mu in the 800m, but even with little experience coaching the 800m, Kersee's 400m training will be enough for Mu. I think that she had a health problem of some kind this year, accounting for a bit of a drop in performance, so if well, she should be back to her prior form next year.
An American sprinter claimed that coach Bob Kersee provided him with anabolic steroids before the Seoul Olympics. Yet in more recent times, doping suspicions have been more fairly directed at two sprint coaches favoured by th...

Felix 49.30
Muhammed 48.94
Mu 48.32
And Sydney split 47.9 this year
Right. If one included the start, is that about the differential you'd expect? Maybe this year's is objectively better accounting for the start but probably not a lot. On the other hand, we see the USA again winning in spite of the boat anchor on leg 2.

Any woman who can run sub-50, even with a relay start, is not a boat anchor.
