He seems likeable and understands what he does- it is hard to relate to many people who 'just run'. He answered the questions normally in my opinion. Being interviewed is tough, especially if the interviewer does not know much about the sport.
If only an interviewer can ask a hard question about his past with Alberto Salazar and Nike.
This is a common false belief about investigative journalism that the "hard question" is how you determine the truth. In actuality, you cultivate sources, find documents, do background research, and so forth, and then you demonstrate the distance between the canned or evasive answers, and the doping program or whatever.
I think he was just on guard during his prime years. This video shows who he really is. This was always there. Now he can just relax and be himself with his career in twilight years. I have nothing against Galen except his possible taint with Salazar.
I wonder when and why he ran 35 miles. That's the only thing we didn't already know. As usual, he won't give away the slightest detail about his training or current fitness level.
As I’ve said before all of his achievements are in question because of connection to Al sal. This should be talked about more
You're right, no one ever talks about this
It's like there wasn't a 5 year investigation that resulted in "ZERO athletes gaining a competitive advantage," and ZERO athletes banned. AlSal is gone. I'm not sure what else you want at this point.
You do realize that Jay Cutler is statistically your best QB of all time, right? I understand he doesn't have the moxie of Luckman or Mcmahon, but he blows those geezer's doors off with a football in one hand and a dart in the other

For realz. McMahon was the definition of average and had the fortune of the one of the greatest defenses of all time and Walter Payton. All in an era when defense and running backs were the keys to a dominate team.

I thought it was clear that my response was sarcastic but I guess not
Galen was at a Dick’s Sporting Goods event last year and they did a quick Q&A. None of the questions were pre-screened, and he was very personable. Quite normal and talked easily…
I actually thought he displayed some real wisdom here, which surprised me. The idea of just focusing on individual lampposts to knock the race out piece by piece seems totally on the money to me.
DFW’s review of Tracy Austin’s autobiography makes the same point; the singular thing about the best athletes is that they can ‘see ball, hit ball’ under all the pressure in the world.
