Last year's 27th place, Korczynski (25:00) won this year's contest, 68 seconds faster. A bunch of the above guys didn't make nationals either individually or as teams, but among those who did there were many top 40 guys, and the top guys were faster this year than last despite some quality teams not being there or, as in Harvard's case, not running their top guys. Virginia's results are reason for optimism for the team to finish well at nationals this year. Arkansas scored 39 points last year and went on to finish 4th at nationals, Virginia 20 points this year, and with barely any gap, in contrast to the Razorbacks last year. So, Virginia's results are reason for optimism for the team to finish well at nationals this year.
