Every grocery store in Germany still has several kinds of beer under 1 euro. Many would still be under even if you count in .08 / .25for the returnable glass bottle for the metal can. If you're a poor student you probably can't afford drinking in a bar
Let's be honest we all make plenty of money to buy as many doritos and burgers as our heart desires
The price of everything is high and rising seemingly every day. Just bought laundry detergent today for close to 50% more than it has traditionally been. Wage increases haven’t even been close to keeping up with inflation.
I make decent money (or, at least it used to be decent, I might be just working class now), and I’m feeling the pinch. Can’t imagine what people who make less are thinking.

Wow bro crazy. You mean the 100 load detergent that cost $5 now costs $7.50... increasing the cost of each load from 5 cents to 7.5 cents. Wow!!
People were saying meat is expensive but I still see great deals on lean ground beef and sometimes even steaks. Like 3 NY strips for 10 bucks...
Why does everyone want to call themselves a victim about everything? Jesus, man up. Stop whining and learn to either shop and cook for yourself or to make more money.
When you guys say "under Trump it was xyz", you're implying that the president controlled the rate of inflation. The current inflation was a completely predictable fallout from the pandemic. Trump just tells people "if I were president, nothing bad would have happened". That's obviously false. Same way it would have been false if Biden said "if I'd been president in 2020 the pandemic wouldn't have happened".
Trump didn't achieve ANYTHING unusual with the economy. He continued some of the trends that were existing when he took office, until Covid hit. The guy was a disaster policy-wise, and doesn't deserve the cringey softball-treatment that he gets from some folks on this forum.
Well, for one thing, the interest rate on adjustable rate mortgages haven't shot up to 30%. Unemployment isn't sky high.
And for another, crime is down. Though there has been some recent rise, starting in 2020 with the pandemic, crime rates are still much lower than in the early '90s. Violent crime rates in 2019 were just half of what they'd been 25-30 years earlier.

Why does everyone want to call themselves a victim about everything?
I actually think I've figured some of that out. Of course, lots of people have always enjoyed playing the "ain't it awful" game; but beyond that: If, however speciously, you feel like you're a victim...well, then, isn't it reasonable that the people you see as your "victimizers" be punished? That laws be passed to hurt and restrict them? That one refuse to accept election results if the victimizers' "team" won a particular contest? And so on.
Being a victim gives you permission to exact retribution.
