If fast Fisher has what it takes to go sub 7:29
If fast Fisher has what it takes to go sub 7:29
Why would she make an announcement? She knows her chances are not good as everything would have to be perfect. But I don't think she cares much about just winning another DL race. You can be sure she wants the WR and this may be her best shot.
Forgive me for not looking sh!t up, but do people ever sprint really fast at Monaco? I don't think Lyles will be near 19.31 again. I'd be happy to be wrong though.
And I agree that it is strange to say "WR ATTEMPT" when no runner has mentioned this.
She stated she is going for a personal best in a post race interview at World's and person keep pushing it and she stated, " I would like to run a PB in Monaco but anything is possible.". Her pb is 3:51.high and the world record is 3:50 low. I doubt she just trying to run a PB when she is less then 1.7 seconds off the world record in the 1500m. Her personal best was set in a championship race w/tactics, competition, and medals in the line. She will have on to follow the rabbit and not worry about string competitors or medals.
Weather good and pacing and I hope she runs sub 3:50. I also hope Grant Fisher breaks the 3000m AR.
Probably not going to break 910 after a long season . Coburn might . but this is obviously far from her best . US women are not exactly setting the distance events on fire this summer either .
Her pb is 3:51.07, which she ran just over a year ago at Monaco. Exactly 1 second slower than the WR.
Exactly, I was coming back to state her correct personal best, so thank you. That makes it even clearer that she is going for the world record. I'm sure if she runs 3:50..08 or even 3:50.99 she will be delighted for a PB but disappointed to come even closer to the wr and not have the record.
I'm also really interested in Grant Fisher and the other American flat 3000m competitors. I hope the race is won in AT LEAST 7:26.0, so Grant have a chance at the AR.
She is going to try to run fast period. Who is pacing is my question. All the athletes invited are at least sub-4:05 as far as PBS. So whoever it is can hopefully lead it out in 2:35 or so.
I say Dominic Lobalu Lokinyomo wins the 3k. He outkicked Kiplimo in Stockholm and is looking strong in his training on instagram, closing a 25x400 workout in 52
Tanner is pacemaking

Faith Kipyegon going for the WR in the women's 1500m and how fast will both Faith K. and l Elise Crranny run?
Men's 3000m
Paul Chelimg,
Grant Fisher,
William Kincaid,
Joe Klecker,
can any of them beat the American Record in a field sure to be fast by the Ethiopians
Womens 3000m steeple:
C. Wayment,
Courtney Fredrichs,
can either of them come close to 9 flat. The one that I left out is also racing but can she prove she still have some good steeple left in her great career?
Stewie is racing so the pace should be honest. I say Fisher wins 7:29.45

The men's 3000 is crowded. Jeez why not keep it to 12-13 guys, so as to avoid mishaps?
Cos the viewing audience likes mishaps.
WHAT A MEET.
When this meet is over the American 3000 record may be history as well as the women's 1500 WR. Plus we get Noah Lyles vs Michael Norman and Erriyon Knighton in the 200, Emmanuel Korir vs Jake Wightman in the 1000, SAFP vs Shericka Jackson in the 200.
Oure preview is here.
What do you think? Does Fisher get the AR? Does Kipyegon get the WR?

Her PB is not 3:51 high, it is 3:51.07, 1.00 seconds above the WR. Both times set in Monaco.
I'm currently in Monaco and the weather is just perfect. I think she has a serious chance to break the record, but the mark is very hard. I say she just fails with 3:50.37.
I'm rooting for Fisher for sure. He put himself in position for a thrilling finish at Worlds before his misstep. I hope he's still in peak form and goes for it.
This is not a TT, and Chelimo will cause havoc.
Not Grant-certified.

Feels like you're writing off the 2017 3k steeple world champ. She won USAs in 9:10 and tried to hold onto the lead pack at worlds at sub 9 minute pace and suffered for it. She's still likely in 9:02-08 shape. History shows that she'll be the top American at Monaco.
Why is there no men's 1500 this year? It's usually the best event.
