I seem to remember how Sage was beaten by women at UTMB a few years ago.
If a male pro marathoner has a bad day, he could easily lose to a pro woman running 2:20
not sure what your point is
My point is that it is silly to hold Sage as one of the favourites in UTMB. Kipchoge could run backwards and still beat all the best women in a marathon.
True. The thing with UTMB is that it's less about who is starting though and more about who is still going after 100 or 120k's. There are always a ton of drops so you can sneak onto the podium and be 2 hours behind the winner

That’s Sage strategy, he is going out with the mid pack and recover places by the end of the race, Sage is the smartest runner in trail running
Well this year is a poor field only Xavier Thevenard and Jim Walmsley are ahead of Sage, I don’t see how Tim Tollefson and the rest could beat Sage…
Dozens of Euros are better than Sage at this point. I am a fan, but let's be realistic. Sage has never had a good 100-miler, so what are the odds of him breaking out now after his health issues and (from what I saw on Strava) less than usual training mileage. Top 20 would be a success in my book.

I'm actually surprised Sage is doing UTMB - he really excels in shorter stuff - CCC or OCC might seem like a better fit. But perhaps it's pressure from Hoka since they are the sponsor? Seems like Hoka's entire roster is doing UTMB. Good to see him competing again!

Of course, Hoka must did an ultimatum to Sage regarding a good result for his sponsorship, is his last chance to remain relevant in the trail running elite
This is not 2015. Sage is a royal pu$y for not speaking up about his vax injury.
TBF his sponsors probably won't allow him to "spread misinformation"
He had bacterial pneumonia and even pointed out in a video the location he thinks he got it. Then he continued to run, complaining of PE-like symptoms, and people in the comments were saying "dude you are having a PE" before he ever went to the hospital. He has been as transparent as physically possible. You think he's hiding something because your brain has turned to tapioca pudding watching 12 hours of OANN every day for 3 years.
Sarcasm? Sage is coming off of a lot and even before all of his life events he has no results that say Sage will place top 3. Top 10 sure, but there are a lot of runners who run UTMB who would be a challenge at Sage level.

I truly believe that Sage is a top contender, he is 100% focus on UTMB as his main event of the year, he is no longer focus on the marathon, he is getting a lot of vert training and poles usage
Sage finished the marathon in over 6:22 hrs a course with over 10,000 ft elevation gain, Sage is all fired for UTMB and expect to be in the top 3 at Chamonix
