She was 6th at African champs. She’s gonna get skonked.
Out in the first round, for sure. If 15 make the final, remember Semenya missed the qualifying time. Surely 20 will run faster. 15.12.09 was last place in the Olympic final last year
Only if you have some freakish genetic advantage - you know, like having the hormonal profile of a male - could you be able to go from being world class in the 400/800 and have the range to be world class in the 5k. Even Coe didn't have that type of range.

Are you referring to Niyonsaba? Semenya is not world class at 5,000 as far as we’ve seen. Getting into Worlds on some technicality doesn’t change the fact that she’d be the 30th best American woman or worse.
The sport is missing an incredible opportunity by not having Semenya race against Mu and the others in the 800. So very, very stupid. Put in a big purse, invite Kratochvílová to the race, and include a $1,000,000 incentive for breaking her record.

No it's not. Having Semeneya run robs us from seeing Mu, potentially the best 800m female runner the last decade, legitimately win races, championships and even set records. What a shame if Mu goes on the break the world record only to have CS run a few tenths faster and be the one in the record books.

She made it to the WC, that's "world class" enough for me. I don't know of a more obvious criteria for someone to be world class other than making the world championships.
That's beside the point, which is that there is not one male athlete who could realistically make a world team in both the 400 and 5k, even on a technicality. The fact she's allowed to compete at all is complete psycho clown world stuff.

On the plus side, Seb Coe and World Athletics are taking another look at the DSD rules right after this season is over.
As much as I wouldn't be happy about it, the best things for the sport long term would be for all the DSD athletes to do extremely well at the World Championships. That would give World Athletics more data to use against them when the DSD athletes get banned and then go to court over it.
Every actual female athlete set to compete at the World's should boycott. Just don't show up. The men should follow suit. No athletes.....no event.
Only when big money is lost will someone take an actual stance against this garbage.
Lol this is track outside of the Olympics, there is no "big money" at stake here.
Well….. big money for track, anyway.
It further makes my point. if the athletes don’t show up, the whole thing goes away. It would be a bit for the athletes not directly affected by the Semenya circus, but it would prove a point to the remaining track promotions.

It would not be a bad result to have Kratochvilova's record taken down by an organic talent.
