A friend who is a top Master's woman says she Peachtree is tough in the second half. I suppose a hill to a Georgian is different than a hill to an upstate NYer, but there's that aspect.
I find it harder to sprint all out on the road.i feel like I will trip over myself for some reason or I’m not as stable as if I’m on the track even in flats or trainers. Feel me?
Fisher is a gamer. Would have gone for the $53k bonus so 26:59 FTW.
A gamer who gets outkicked by a guy with a 5k pr 11 seconds slower than him in a natty champs 10k? Lol ok
Unsophisticated response.
Late May Fisher was training through USA 10k because that is how good he is and he had a completely different Spring. After setting two American records, Fisher had to back it off and train like the Fall (base training). Klecker had races under his belt and was sharp in late May.
Hills would certainly make a difference, and I also think the surface makes a slight difference. It seems reasonable to think that instead of Fisher being 40s ahead of Mantz on the track he'd only be 30-35s ahead of him on a moderately hilly road course. Not sure why I was getting downvoted for that.
Because you don’t remember how Grant Fisher destroyed people on the hills up and down at Footlocker. kid can run hills.
Dude I've been following Fisher since his 11th grade footlocker win! He's certainly got XC chops. But as a pro he obviously hasn't been training to run anything other than flat track for a number of years. Mantz however just came off an XC season and is now moving to the roads. No knock against Fisher, he would still beat Mantz by at least 30s on the roads, but maybe not by quite as much as he would on the track.

It's too bad we can't table this speculation until the Great North Run. Any chance Mantz and Fisher will hop in the race and scrap for top American honors? If not, World XC should settle a few things.
