Just wondering.Have these students already been accepted for enrollment, or is that still part of the process? Like -- I'm committing to run there, but I still have to be accepted? I don't think many places are enrolling for 2023 yet.
they have been offered and have verbally accepted the offer. I see all the well known ones have already been posted. I would add Brooke Wilson (2:14/4:54/10:22) and Alyssa Preisano (2:17/4:56/10:44) are going to Wake Forest. And Maelynn Higgins (2:09/4:53) has committed to North Carolina.
They have received verbal offers and have verbally accepted. Nothing in writing from either side.
Also it's still fine of any school to continue to recruit until someone has actually signed which can't happen until mid-November.
OK State is gonna have an awesome lineup in 2023 and Ping/Peters don’t redshirt.
Roe G Ping L Ping Cook Peters Hentemam
I don’t think Molly Born will be eligible in 2023. She graduated HS in 2018 and she raced at Nats in the fall of that year so I I’m pretty sure she competed as a true freshman that year
I might put McConnell and Politza ahead of either Ping at this point. But who knows how they will develop.
Even next year Oklahoma State looks stacked.
Born
Roe
Henteman
Cook
McConnell
Politza
Ping
But I agree that McConnell is better than the Pings. Politza seems similar to them
Stanford is getting a rediculous number of top girls. 5 or 6 of the top distance girls from class of 2022 and now Riggs and Kennedy in the class of 2023.
There is a maximum number of athletic scholarships they can give out, so how are they doing it? Do they give some of the girls academic only scholarships?
I don't know about these girls specifically, but Stanford like a lot of schools will give 1/2 rides, books-only, etc depending on how good the recruit is and what they have available. Stanford being Stanford, it is in a position that some will turn down a full ride elsewhere for a partial at Stanford. And Stanford has massive resources so if there is genuine financial need then, like for all its students, need-based financial aid can be substantial.

Apparently they are getting O’Connell too. Not bad.

Yes and throw in OK state champ Cayden Dawson and Payton Hinkle and the class is amazing. Never mind these latest juniors. I remember in the 2022 commits thread there was a lot of head scratching about where in the world will they fit all these girls. Especially as noted above if Born is still eligible and Im not sure if Colleen Stegman had a XC season last year so a LOT of these girls are going to be freshman eligibility wise next year. I assume some of these kids are going to redshirt.

How many of those class 2022 girls going to Stanford will redshirt?
I don't know. But I doubt that 2:00 Roisin Willis and 1:59 Juliette Whittaker are going to red shirt. They are already faster than anyone in the NCAA.
