I honestly saw it coming. I thought her last race would’ve given her the confidence to perform today.
So which is it, you saw it coming or you thought she would perform today?
Does that not make sense to you? The world isn’t black and white and neither are my thoughts.
I am completely unsurprised that she bombed out and I would’ve been completely unsurprised if she won the trials. Her performances this season have been volatile so I expected volatility, and that’s what we got.
For that reason I didn’t think Richardson was a lock for the team nor would I have even given her good betting odds for making the team.
11.31!! No bigger upset possible this weekend than SCR out in round 1.
She is one of the biggest headcases in the history of this sport. Not surprising at all to see her fold under pressure at a meet like this, and not surprising at all that her focus is on meets where she is allowed to run in fishnets instead of USA/WC
Surprised she checked out this early, but not surprised she checked out. All that talent and potential means nothing if you don’t have it going on up stairs. She’s shown time and again she can’t / won’t bring her best when it matters the most.
Wouldn’t be surprised if she pulls out of the 200m.

No, after a slow start she’s been solid to very very good, she’s not been “volatile.” Her performances at Pre and in NY betrayed no sense that she would bomb with a 11.31 in round 1. I’m not kidding, let’s get the readout on what % did not pick her to make the team among this “knowledgeable” readership. Picking her to not make the semis? You are in a select and small group not to be surprised.
Of course, if you don't advance oiut of your heat you almost certainly won't get drug tested...
Funny how she was complaining of USADA drug testing a few days ago on Twitter.
Once again @usantidoping give us all these rules but can not follow themselves.Stop giving us rules that y’all can bend just to get more money. The ones behind the desk who probably has never been a high level athlete need to be held accountable at the same level as the athletes!
She might need a different team around her. It is not about controlling her or stifling her personality, but she might benefit from a more structured approach. Outfits, nails, bravado aside, she seems to have an unstable situation in a few areas. Everyone seems to be a "yes man" around her. idk
Agreed. I think getting mentored by Gail Devers would help. Devers knew how to look fabulous while still getting the job done under pressure.
I'm hardly a Sha'Carri fan, but I'm feeling a little bit of sympathy for her at this point. Seriously. Something is obviously wrong in her life. Maybe she has some kind of mental issue, and for some reason the way she deals with it is being the way she is.
Alls I'm saying is, hopefully all the haters don't pile on too hard. Perhaps she truly is just obnoxious, but I think one should leave open the possibility that her seemingly obnoxious behavior is the result of some kind of struggle we are not privy to.

She does not have to be Sydney or Mu in respect to her persona, but you hit it on the head with the term "mentor". I think she even had more accountability at LSU, as you can could see a marked shift in her behavior (not spirit or personality) after she left. Her agent talked about only having a social media to keep tabs on her. She needs someone in her corner that respects her enough to draw hard lines on professionalism, focus, and developing healthy habits. And she also needs to respect that person enough to although them that power. Her focus should not be on twitter battles with exes and USATF, feuds with content creators, and dysfunctional habits. She is young and will hopefully mature.

I talked to her several times while she was at LSU and also several times after she went pro. She was much friendlier and more polite when she was at LSU.
She can be very nice if she wants to, but she doesn't seem to want to anymore. She's developed a "me against the world" chip on her shoulder which isn't helpful.

As someone who has talked to her a number of times over the years, she's actually not an obnoxious person. But she does have issues that she hasn't successfully dealt with.
The good news is that she finally got out of the bad relationship she was in and she also stopped using marijuana so that's two steps in the right direction.
You have to remember that if she hadn't left college she would still have one more year of college eligibility left. Meaning that she's still pretty young. Hopefully over the next year or two she will mature and start acting more normal.
