Nitrogen-infused coffee. It wasn't just "not good." It tasted so bad I tried it in another coffee shop just to make sure I didn't get a bad cup at the first store.

Wham bar. I remembered it as being nice, but it wasn't very pleasant.

Ranch dressing. Not a food, I know, but to hear Americans talk about it ... hyped almost as much as they hype peanut butter.
Foie gras, ethical issues notwithstanding, was disappointing. As is caviar which, although not bland or disgusting, doesn't merit the hype.
Foie Gras and caviar aren’t expensive because they taste phenomenal, it’s because of the difficulty in getting it. Same with truffles.
I did have a small fresh pasta dish topped with Ossetra Gold caviar recently that was amazing.
I think lobster is overrated. Yeah, it’s good if you drown it in butter. What isn’t?
A properly prepared Prime Filet or a fresh Ahi tuna lives up to the hype for me.
The "Friday Surprise" in elementary school cafeteria. I think it was some kind of fish ie snapper (that's when fish was cheap) casserole...still not sure to this day.

Lobster is great but everyone thinks that the tail is the best. We go to Maine about every other year and always have a “lobster night.” The claws are the best part - tender and sweet. Tails are not nearly as tender or sweet. Tails will sometimes be tough. I will sometimes trade my tail for claws.
Lobster rolls can be good or bad. Some places skimp on the meat or use meat that is “tough.” We have a place that uses a lot of claw meat and it only needs a small amount of butter. If the meat isn’t as good, it will need to be smothered in mayonnaise the rolls aren’t nearly as good.
Prime filet is good but I prefer a ribeye. My favorite steak, though, is a top sirloin cap. In Brazil and at Brazilian steakhouses, it’s the preferred cut. It’s also known as picanha. When it’s done right, there isn’t a better cut of steak. It’s also a bargain. If it’s waygu it’s about $15-20 per pound. Prime is usually less than $10 per pound.
Agree on the ahi tuna.
Also, to the person saying that salmon is dry - I’ll echo what someone else said. If it’s dry it wasn’t done right.

Everything that comes from plants, except fruit.
Since I typoed lobster in my first post, I need to keep my username 😂
The other key to good lobster is to get it fresh - taken from the trap on the same day it’s eaten if at all possible. The stuff you get at a grocery store in the Midwest or even worse, a tail that is frozen, is not nearly the same.
The shortcomings of lobster and crab are that they are bottom feeders. IE all the crap that settles to the bottom of the sea like heavy metals, any kind of pollution, they pick up. Go ahead and eat it but I really don't think it's healthy in any way.
Green chile beer. I like green chile. I like beer. I hate them together.

The first time I ate at a French restaurant in Paris I had to rush back to my hotel and to the bathroom, I wasn’t ready for foods with cream sauce.
Also, the first time I ate a restaurant in North Carolina I ordered chicken, and it came with bbq sauce all over it. I took napkins and daubed it off. I like 🥩 meat, not all the sauces. And I am perennially outraged at those who put hot sauce on everything

Moderation is key. Compared to predatory fish like salmon, lobster probably has less heavy metals. Don't get me wrong, I love salmon but like lobster, moderation is key. Just about all seafood has mercury but those big predators high up on the food chain have a lot more.
If you are moderate in your consumption of lobster, the health benefits outweigh anything that is detrimental.
Crumbl cookies. Std fare cookie with a bunch of frosting on top. Meh.

Bugs of the sea, and people rave over them. Then again, dip old boots into the flavored butter they dunk lobster and crab into, and it will taste good, too.
Idiots.
The McRib
avocados
almonds - dry and boring when not overly processed
bacon - I like it, but its overrated and overused
salmon - I enjoy other fish more
kale - this stuff is barely edible
smoothies - they are ok, but I like to eat, so I'd rather just eat the ingredients.

Gotta be the lobster roll for me.
Eaton Street Seafood Market and Restaurant in Key West , Florida has to be the worst. They have a sign out that claims World famous. The lobster that they use is frozen and brought in from out of state. I don't even think they really make the lobster roll in house. It tasted like it was microwaved. I did like everything else on Eaton St. Including the B&B I stayed at and the New Orleans owned bike store.
Not sure about these caviar bumbs I have been hearing about lately.
