Is the plan for Eilish to set it up and then hang on as best she can? She's run back-to-back 2:59s to start it off through 3k.

Elish McColgan leading the 10k by over 20 seconds. That’s like 150m.
Eilish +30... ok this is epic

Very courageous. But she will not finish in top 10.
5k in, slowed to 73 seconds per lap so you may be right
Anyone with word on why Gabriela DeBues Stafford was a DNS in the 800m? Her Strava clearly shows she is in Hengelo to race.
5,000 in 15:00.75, certainly shooting her shot.
Her lead is 35 secs with less than 5k remaining
Her lead is like 300m
Less than 3k left and still no move by the peloton. McColgan leading by 45 seconds and starting to lap runners.
Eilish lapping fools. The wind looks awful.
Looks like the Ethiopians are only interested in racing between themselves
Gidey goes followed by Ayana. Too late to win. But interesting to watch
30:19.02!! Baller run

So I was deadly wrong. No interest from the Ethiopians to win the race. Congrats to McColgan. Ayana will not get to her old form.
30:19 .02 for McColgan. Gidey kicks to win the fight for 2nd just ahead of Taye and Margaret Kipkemboi.

I had a feeling she was going for Radcliffe's British record of 30:01. Conditions were appalling - look at the crowd and people's umbrellas were blowing inside out. Did she lost 19 seconds to the wind and rain? Maybe. An absolutely stunning run on her own. If she can ever get into a BTC-style time trial with good conditions, she can break 30

True. She’ll have to do more to earn their respect.
If you've been following her road races this season you wouldn't have made such a poor prediction here...
