So is this true?:
This latest kid does not participate in his school's-sanctioned, district-funded track and field team. The school track coach probably wouldn't recognize him.
I'm not saying this is or isn't the case. Just curious. Hence my question to those who follow the guy. If coached by Tinman, he can't be on the team, right? This would be unusual these days, but Mu wasn't coached by the school-paid coach/on the official school team. Niether was Verzbikas (although he WAS on the XC team - this isn't contradictory at schools with separate programs as opposed to a single year-round one.) It doesn't seem like Fisher was either, although I'm sure some of you have more detail. We all know Cain was not just Salazar-affilated but also not part of the school's team.
This is probably even more common among those not worthy of media attention. I never met my high school track coach. All the distance runners at school ran unattached winter through summer, with some doing XC (again, separate programs with unrelated coaches). This is why I ask, since from my perpective it's not wierd to run without giving the school credit or them even knowing about it. It's how I did it - as did some much more worthy of your praise than I. The Tinman connection makes it impossible to 'be on the team', or so it would seem....
