For reference, 2021 USAPL Raw nationals. Order is by GLP, which is a point system that compares lifters by category (wt/gender).
Of note:
Female weighing 184 lifting a good 200-300lbs more total than Symmonds.
All of the males in his weight class are a good 700+ pounds above him in total.
He could probably put 20lbs on his squat by going low bar, assuming he can still get PL depth.
His Bench looks narrow, but thats just me. I doubt he's putting much effort in trying to figure out how to actually lift the most weight by adjusting his grip width. I also don't see much arch or leg drive, +10-20lbs there easy.
He seems built well for the DL. When he stands up his knuckles are even with the bottom of his junk. Watch people Deadlift and notice how long their arms are. Those with arms in relation to their torso will pull mountains. The sumo pullers tend to be lighter or have shortish arms. I am built like a T-Rex but I pull conventional because Sumo feels slow as heck off the floor. My explosiveness is nil!
