This is fantastic and not some one-off fluke: He’s broken 3 hours in the marathon 76 times! It will take some time to get this one ratified. Looks like he is sponsored by Asics. Good for him and them! It looks like he’s just getting starting in setting world records. I looked him up in the world and single-age masters world records and I guess it will take some time for his records to start showing up. Not to diminish his accomplishments in any way but if you do a similar lookup on Ed Whitlock, you will find he has an astounding 110 world and single-age records. I think folks forget just how amazing Ed was.
But, relatively speaking, he’s still young, and will no doubt grab a number of these records. I list them below, just so we don’t forget Ed too soon….
1 in the mile outdoor
1 in the 1500 indoor
9 in the 5K
4 in the 4 mile
8 in the 8K
10 in the 10K
2 in 12 K
13 in the 15K
6 in the 10 mile
10 in the Half Marathon
1 in the 25K
6 in the 30K
11 in the Marathon
13 in the 3000 indoor
2 in the 3000 outdoor
7 in the 5000 outdoor
6 in the 10,000 outdoor
What site did you use to look up these rankings? ARRS has not kept up since 2017.
