The common theme for NC State is to have the top runners step down in distance pre NCAA. Chmiel, with no qualifying time yet in any event will be an exception IF she runs. Almost everybody gets entered into the 5000. I'd be surprised to see, but with ~2 hours between the 1500 and 5000 there is time, but less so for the 800 (Bush). No doubt some of those 5000 entries will DNS. Lauren Ryan (10000), Nicole Fegans (5000) are major obstacles to a sweep, and is Reinhart of Duke (both events).
How come Nevada didn't run on the 1500 relay team? I didn't hear any mention of this but she ran 415 earlier in the year...
I imagine it's just a minor injury. Everyone has been dealing with niggles this year. Seems like niggles are everywhere... Anyway just kind of funny cuz they lost by 2 seconds and her PB this year is 2 seconds faster than two of the other runners so
which is why i dont understand hannah steelman being in the 10k race and not in the 5k, 10k is pretty brutal, even katelyn tuohy doesnt want to run it....

theres more nc state runners in the 10000m than the 5000m
they are actually not stepping down any distance, rather they are upping
starliper was running 1500s but now shes running the 5000m
holt, howlett, clairmonte, zachgo, steelman .. all of them were only running 5000m this season but now they are entered in the 10000m ..im so confused about the recently recovered injured runners being entered at a 10k

you missed my "top runners" qualification ie Tuohy and Bush. The ones who have a real chance to do something at Nationals.
Interesting starliper running her first five k in a while... I thought she was like a 1500 specialist
Who are the top 10 women's distance runners in the ACC?
Depends what you mean by distance. I will use 1500 and up. I will say Tuohy, Barnett, Bush, Ryan, Fegans, Reinhart, Shaw, Vess, Appelton, Clairemont. I guess that is ten. The first six are solid. Markezich and Denner of ND if they have good days, but they have plenty of bad days too. Parks but not having the best season right now. Chmiel, Steelman and Hays if healthy would be on the list and push Shaw/Appleton/Clairemont off. Maybe I missed someone, but that is what I see off the top of my head.

OMG we forgot Maudie Skyring!!! I remember her from last years ACC, I wouldnt be surprise if shes in it with 300m to go in the 1500m! she ran 4:09 in ACC last year...but been running slower times this year, but still I would not want to underestimate her.
Basically this meet will be Wolfpack domination for the distance races, other than fegans and ryan in the 10k, its all wolfpack ... same in the 5000m and 1500m(other than barnett, its also going to be all nc state)

well bush is not originally a 5000m runner, shes not really stepping down to 800m, coz thats her thing ..shes a mid-distance
surprised they didnt put her in the 1500m, maybe its because of it being a longer distance, she has to run 8,000m if she does the 15/5 double .. i remember when she tried to add mileage and days later she ended up not running well in the 1500m

Bush will run 1500 in NCAAs hence the 800 here. If she was going to run the 5000 in NCAAs no need for the fast 1500 for qualification. imho

still confused about the nc state entries and as to why shes not in the 1500m&others but im pretty sure shes gonna have the 5000m as a fall-back plan in case she doesnt qualify for the 1500m
also maybe coach henes is trying to win the team trophy so she also put bush in the 800m for points

Probably both points, and not running a hard 1500 at this time. NC State has 5 of top 10 ACC 1500 times this year, and Brown, Appleton and Fegans are not in 1500 so even without Bush they could score high. Bush is #2 in 800 and best chance to score there.
so they are really going for the team title !! thats good becoz it takes pressure off from runners, knowing they are running for something bigger than themselves .. noiiice
So you think teams show up at the conference meet intending to lose but when the team is trying to win, it takes pressure off? What are you talking about?
Tuohy gotta chill in 1500 prelim... Last year she needlessly ran all out... Prob knows better now!
Disagree! I think she should send a message in the prelims! Not only should she run all out but a head first dive at the finish would be nice! Really show the competition that she means business!
