Even if they are done for the season, WHO CARES. They don’t owe us anything and are just teenage boys trying to run track. It’s not professional or that serious. It’s just high school..
Yeah, who cares? HAHAHAHA!!! EVERYONE cares! The coach doesn't think they're just teenage boys trying to run track (see his interviews where he says they train like pros). The kids don't think they're just teenage boys trying to run track (see their YouTube channel). The fan boys don't think they're just teenage boys trying to run track (see the endless posts on social media and letsrun where they passionately talk about how awesome they are). The haters don't think they're just teenage boys trying to run track (see the same endless posts on social media and letsrun where they just as passionately criticize them). The public doesn't think they are just teenage boys trying to run track (see the hoards of fans who show up to meets and get in line for pictures and interviews).
Disgusting. Grown ass men worried about 15-18 year olds. In HS! Ask yourself, do u seriously think NP cares abt anyones opinion other than their own? No! Their simply trying to have fun. Not please people who say they’ve “burnt out.” Sure they have a lot of fans and media, but doesn’t take away the fact they. are. in. HS! Calm down.
All of this nonsense only because a high school runner ran a 9:02 3200 meters? Come on now fellas he'll be fine. Most high school distance runners dream of running a 9:02!

Sorry, I’m unclear who this is directed at. Are you disgusted with the coach that doesn’t seem to understand they are in HS with his, we welcome the pressure, don’t set limits and train like pros credos?
from what i can tell, NP ran slowish at mt sac relative to their perceived potential. but almost everybody runs slow/stagnant there cause nobody cares about that meet on the high school scene. after MOC and Arcadia, the big in-season local invites have wrapped up and mt sac is only used by coaches/athletes chasing times. just being entered in the meet is a red flag against the teams coaches.
Because he got sick, a viral infection. It’s a smart move to not push though this. Imagine running though this and people like you would be crying.
Why do you care so much ? It’s kind of creepy and time to move in on
kinda creepy you know a teenage boy’s personal medical history that hasn’t been publicly shared. stalk much? I just stated a fact that he out for the year. why would you conclude I care?

It's been said in interviews online about Leo getting sick with a bad viral infection. I think your complaining and whining is getting old. I agree you need to move on now and start another thread about a HS kid who got sick.

Can you name a single coach in any HS sport in history that set limits on his athletes or an athlete that didn’t want to improve?
Yes, my high school coach set limits all the time. He wanted to protect me from myself. It worked received a scholarship and it payed for my education.

You’re saying that Brosnan should be putting limits on the brothers?
Leo doesn’t show up in their league meet entries. Maybe Leo’s injury or sickness was worse than previously thought. The team appears to have flown a bit too close to the sun for a little too long. The last couple of week’s results look shaky at best. February seems to have been their peak, but hoping they can find a way to take a bit of a break and rally for the CIF post season run.
It happens all the time. Someone gets injured or sick. The harder you push the more likely it happens to someone. It's part of the game. He got some great results and should be happy with the way most of it went down. I am sure he and his coach are both disappointed at the way it finished up but it's part of the sport unfortunately.

Maybe so. For those who say it is smart to shut Leo down now, they should admit it was dumb to let him run Arcadia if he was sick before and during the race. Kinda the coaches job to prevent their athletes from doing something dumb by putting limits on them.

i love it when people here write a 10 paragraph diatribe about how Newbury Park owes you nothing and then finish the last sentence with “why do you care so much”
like we’re just pointing out maybe if sean brosnan would calm down a bit in the winter maybe these kids could see a state championship in May and go race brooks pr but they’re just so burnt they can’t.
Newbury Park having the best HS season in HS distance HISTORY. Cant wait to see what's to come.
I don’t know about all that. They had the best XC season. Track has not gone well, relatively speaking. Which isn’t so bad. They should have crushed every relay national record. They have zero. It’s essentially the same as NAU. They crush XC then don’t do well in track. Wouldn’t be surprised if Nico gives them his workouts and they do them with a scaled back pace.

Was it smart to push through it at Arcadia? He was sick the days leading up to the race. Pushing through it may have caused something that wasn't a serious illness turn into a season ending illness.
You’re saying that Brosnan should be putting limits on the brothers?
Yes, he shouldn't have ran Arcadia if he was sick.
Why I brought that this issue up is because of posters often stating that part of Brosnan’s coaching genius is that he doesn’t place limits on the NP studs. Unless I’m missing something, it’s just another dumb cliche such as coaching his runners to give 110%.
