That was some of the best announcing I’ve heard in a while. Who was that?
solid announcing, but saying beadle was gonna win "no doubt now" with 500 to go wasn't the greatest take.
I liked "I think I have a new favorite runner" around 11:30 race time, 3:15 in the video (also about Beadlescomb). Made sense at the time, it wasn't easy to predict Fay would win.

Lol, they couldn’t have blown more smoke up Beadlescomb’s 🍑 in those last few laps and then this guy comes and ANNIHILATES him. It looked like Beadle didn’t have a single gear to shift to, literally one speed. I guess he’d just been grinding those last couple laps so hard it was all gone
This was a great kick and fun to watch. However, this would have been a 13:30+ in old shoes. They are giving 5 seconds per mile in the 3k, 5k, 10k. Look at indoor times this year for 3k / 5k vs the averages of the past 10 years. The data is clear. Very good college time, but the race times have shifted because of the shoes.
If you had any sense you would do some research before commenting. Injured at the start of xc. Look at his PRs, 10k run in terrible conditions in Ireland and 5k in Switzerland (ran 13:38 in a time trial). Didn’t even have the decency to mention his 8:29 steeple PR. There’s a reason athletes travel to California. Perfect conditions, lots of depth, no pushing and shoving like most races in Europe. All these magical times come from California unless you’re in diamond league races.

wanted to add that Azusa's track is like lightning too and the setup in general is very intimate which adds a lot of energy when you're competing. there's a reason the MOC high school meet likes to use that track. it's like pr central.
regarding super shoes: how much it helps a runner is highly dependent on their foot strength/elasticity. helps people with bad feet a lot more than those who have great feet from an athletic standpoint.
