As of last fall, he still held the FLYRA state xc meet record, which goes up through eighth grade, and this year he broke his second state hs xc record, in addition to having run 4:01 just before his junior year. Tinman came on the site to defend him after someone was claiming that he had regressed. In Florida, in order to compete at the state championships, you have to run at least 7 meets prior to that. Five meets to be allowed to run in districts, then you have to qualify at districts and regionals to get to states. The five meets probably have to be FHSAA meets. So, there's not a lot of room there to compete out of state. 1:48.05 solo is absolutely flying. Flatt's a second ahead of him now. Sumner's run 1:48.14 indoors. If Harrison gives the 800 a go in June, we could well see three sub 1:47s this year, making this the highest quality 800 year ever. I fully expect a sub-4 from Harrison as well, given the kind of shape he is in. I note too from the training videos that used to be posted on this website from probably 2021 that he was doing some very quick 400m reps, 56 and faster, so he clearly has repeatable speed and will make a great miler. No pressure.
Great to see everyone give these kids so much hype. I think many of the posters here don’t know how hard it is to actually drop time in the 800. Flatt and Sumner have the best chance of running faster thanks to their 400 speed. The big things to remember here is that they are still children (minus Flatt who’s going on 20). Either way they are all running well but some of these speculations on time are a little much.
Dude honestly might be more of an 800m guy that’s good at the mile. I consider 1:48 better than 4:00.
Crazy performance. Is that a 2 second PR?
Or he is about to drop a 3:55..... He has a solid history of distance performances but 148 is also super fast.
Just hope we get a half dozen of these 402 guys in a fast race. Maybe this type of depth is the new normal but it could also be a once in 20 years occurrence .
Well, let's see. Harrison just dropped 1.2 seconds from his pr from a few weeks ago and won by 8 seconds. Usually, the fastest times are run with top pacers and drafting to 500-600m, and often with good competition. Top high schoolers usually run their best with collegians or pros. There's every reason to think he'll run faster when he's peaking in June as well. Of course, he may not run faster and may not even target it, but no well-coached, well-trained, experienced athletes run faster in solo, self-paced time trials two months out from their peak.
My mistake, I thought you were asking what Rheinhardt Harrison’s exact birthdate was. Again, he was born February 15, 2004, so he’s 18 years in about two months old now.

Amazing athlete. Will he be making a sub-4 attempt sometime soon?

In your professional opinion- in 5 years, does Harrison have better PRs than Hunter’s current PRs? Why or why not?
(If you’re going to give a PC, non-answer, please don’t even bother.)
Yes. His mechanics are much better than Hunter's which points to more potential for long-term improvement. I'll predict 1:46/3:33/13:10 PRs for him.
He'll break 13 eventually, I guarantee it. Ran 4:01 before his junior year? In 1:47 mid shape right now? Jogged an 8:47 as a junior, pacing his teammate for a sub-9? Ran a #2 all-time 2:22 Indoor 1,000m in his first indoor race ever? Undefeated in Florida XC for a while? He's got the speed and the endurance. Very efficient runner. And he's not overly trained, as Tinman has indicated here. Kid is the real deal, would love to see him face the Newberry smoothie boys.

Obviously you are not very bright. You are “guaranteeing” what some high school kid will do one day in athletics? This is the epitome of stupidity. Plus no high school kid is jogging an 8:47 so please educate yourself regarding the meaning of words. You are not guaranteeing anything so please educate yourself about the meaning of that word also.
