Going into conference Sophomore year my 3200 PR was 11:21. I ran an 11:17 with 1600 splits of 5:20/5:57.
Went through the half of a downhill marathon in 1:17(my PR was 1:20 at the time) and the second 1:34. Pretty much gave up on the race since i mentally psyched myself out for going out too fast. Ended up still having a 6 min PR
One of my first 800s: 56-1:13. Was a PR at the time.
After a few weeks I broke 2 simply going out in 58.

I went out in 5:00 then 4:59 then finished in 16:06.
Or in another sense I ran the 400 and went 23.5 the first 200 then 27 to run 50.5 pr'ing by 5 seconds(didn't run many 400s)

The question is illogical. 90% of high school runners positive split races which means 90% of their PRs are set with positive splits.
For me, it's a an odd distance, the 5 mile. I was pretty new at running at the time (but in my mid to late 30s), and for whatever reason my area had several 5 mile races. My 5 mile PR going into this race was something like 34:57, just barely under 7 min pace and I had the bright idea that I could do 6 minute pace in the next race.
Went out in 5:40, 5:55 ... and finished about 8:30 pace for the last time. Finished with a new "PR" of 33:0x for what was at the time, my most painful race ever. I did end up running a faster 5 miles several times as the first 5 miles of half marathons and also my 10k PR.
I have many funny examples:
-My first 800m I went out in 59 and came back in 68, almost quitted last 100m
-Also my first 3000m I splitted 2.57 for the first 1k and finished in 9.26
-Last season I set my SB in the 1500m splitting 58, 1,58, 2,59 and finishing in 3.50. It was my last chance to go to nationals and I took the risk. Almost died

Agreed it's "easier" to do in a marathon, but that's not what anybody would generally call a "huge" positive split. (I ran a then-PR of 2:53 in a marathon splitting 1:21-1:32. Now that's a huge positive split. Was on pace for about 2:42-2:44 through 22 miles; walked quite a bit in miles 23-25.)
Freshman year of high school, second 800 ever. 57/77 for 2:14 and like a 10 second PR. Thought the last 100 was going to end me.
But the question was if anyone ran a large enough positive split to PR. I will state again that the majority of PRs run by posters were done with positive splits. A better question would regarding negative splits and PRs.

The 5k is still my fastest outright
The day I ran my 5K pr in 16:58, with a first mile of 5:04. 1600 pr at the time was 4:54. There was a sizeable pack of ~30-40 people with me at the mile mark, in a JV race. By the end of the second mile in ~530 the entire pack had fallen off, so positive splitting clearly worked on the day.

It's not a PR if it was a downhill race
I ran the Capitola Hang 5 / 10 which I thought were 5K and 10K races but turns out they were 5 and 10 miles respectively. I had never run the course and it was a cold and windy day at the start along the water so I stayed in my car until shortly before the race started and wasn't interacting with other participants. I went out in my normal 5K pace before realizing at mile two that the semi loop / out and back course was gonna be longer than 3.1 miles since we hadn't reached the turn-around yet and realized there was no way the back portion was gonna be less than a mile. I ended up running the race in 31 minutes but my splits were something like 5:45, 5:50, 6:10, 6:35, 6:40. It didn't help that the wind was in my face for the last mile and a half along the ocean.
I recently ran 2'56" for the first km of a 5K. Passed 2K in 6'04" and finished in 15'50", a PB! Next time I run a 5k I reckon I'll start a little more conservatively.
At a big invitational meet in high school, my coach (who was great but didn't really know anything about distance running) told me to stick with a guy who was much faster than me and "hang on" in the 3200. At the time, my 1600 PR was about 4:37 or so. I went out in the first half right behind the fast kid in 4:45, and I felt like crap. I managed to hang on for another lap, but then the last three I completely died and got passed by a ton of dudes. My final time was a 10:18, so I ran about a 5:33 second mile. Not sure what my PR in the 3200 was before, but that was certainly close to it.
