It would be fun so cal exhibition. I’m thinking PP’s top runner might pick off NPs #4. Also, if the race is 8K instead of 5K, I’m thinking PP’s chances go up. I’m scoring it PP 34 and NP 35! If it was a tri meet and CMS joined in, then PP wins for sure.
Your math is all wrong. Embarrassingly wrong. If a team sweeps the top 3 places in a dual meet, there is no mathematical way for them to lose. Not to mention you can't score 34 and 35 points in a dual meet. That's too high of a point total.
Newbury Park - 1-2-3-11-12 = 29
Pomona-Pitzer - 4-5-6-7-8 (9-10) = 30
Yes, you are correct. I was opening it up to a full squad meet, with top 5 scoring so the PP depth would further displace the NP #5, but that’s not the way it’s done…..
I still think it’s great that a small, academically intense school can have a large group of guys to train that hard. It’s not like they’re at some school with nothing else to do but run.
It's actually 2 schools with a combined team, so that's another really big advantage.
A big advantage. Sure. C’mon. Give it up, you are talking about D #*&$! 3. if you think it is such a huge advantage in sports to have two highly selective academic schools combine, split the squad in half and it still is a great D3 team. (And I actually am a fan of one of their rivals…)
