You don't just go out and run these races on your own. I would love to know who's pacing her, on a bike or otherwise.
Exactly. Shalane made it clear they are still helping her. At this point at least some of the btc athletes have to feel the weight of this. Why are they being asked to do this?

I thought there was some rules against aiding convicted dopers?
Should we sponsor her? It would be epic if she broke 30:00 just to see all of the haters go ballistic. When I was younger, it was clear to me the world was black and white. Now I see lots of grey.
She very well could be a doper. There also is a possibility she inadvertently took a banned substance. Regardless, I like her time trials as it shows the problems inherent in our sport.
In football, a random person can't throw their own game and get people to pay attention. In track, they can.
One thing I do wish would happen. I wish WADA would show up at her door unannounced right now and offer to test her. If she denies the test, then well that speaks volumes. If she passes it, then it gets interesting.

Yes - sponsor her, that would be fun and set a clear sign.
But, serious question: how can one "inadvertently" take synthetic nandro? Neither vitamins nor food (in the US at least) come contaminated with that iirc, only other steroids.

Yes you should supply her with a whole pile of drugs to see if she would take them and how fast she could get. Then you could have an event where you promote it with T-shirts and a hashtag of #LRWeDopeShelby and she can race a horse that is equally as drugged.
She said on IG she has something fun coming up and the past 1-2 months she’s been a week behind her BTC teammates’ races. She’s likely time trialing a 10K - I’d put her at 30:15, just behind Elise and Molly

She is still in the testing pool. That is part of serving a ban. Presumably she is still getting tested. Not sure how it works if you are caught doping while serving a suspension. I don’t believe that has ever happened as far as I know.
As far as LRC sponsoring her … you are either for clean sport or not. If your stance is that all world level runners are doping, I can see that as a valid place to stand. However, pretending that Shelby is somehow actually innocent is absurd.

If people hate her they should be pleased she is banned and if she ran a 30:00, it wouldn’t make the best times list for 2022 even with a big fat asterisk.

Nah sends the wrong message to sponsor her. Instead - offer to livestream it

How many people here thinks Rojo has sent money to a Nigerian Prince?
