Cortisone can be risky for some...but clear up the problem for others. I think 🤔 it's a last-ditch gamble.
Cortisone is not risky medically speaking nor will it damage tissue, nor should it be considered a last ditch gamble. ....all old myths.
It may or may not be effective, but is usually very effective.
Really? If one were to go back through years of posts on this forum, they would see that “old myth” was accepted here, with the understanding that those shots can weaken connective tissue.

I don't think we have final say in this. My understanding is that it is still a controversial topic. Personally I had good results from a shot in a very painful shoulder- went from extreme pain to (albeit floppy uselessness for a day or so) to no pain at all. I read a good amount beforehand and was prepared for no help or side effects.) As many articles praising the treatment as criticizing it. Many read as certain as yours (Douchebag) that it does more harm than good. I still say it's a gamble- and if the pain is bad enough, might be worth the toss.
Again, thanks for all the responses! I did end up getting the cortisone shot even though I do realize it can be a controversial topic. Honestly, I really just did not know what else to do after a couple months of pain and no sign of it getting any better. Anyway, I appreciate every post on here. Will hopefully be beginning the long journey of getting back in shape on Monday haha
