I'm here for all the cretins that have been calling him overweight and throwing shade at his TT and Armory iMile last month. The dude is legit and some people on this forum are too focused on his BMI rather than their own training.
As for Passant, "good and bad successive performances" - his last few performances include starting his season with a 3:52 iMile in January and an Olympic Medal. Get a life.
Firstly, Passant once again proves himself to be an idiot. Secondly, does anyone know where to find the mile results? When I click the link posted on this thread, I can only see the 1500m splits

Jeezus, can people realize that body weight IS a factor in distance running? It just IS, and we don’t need to be such p*ssies talking about it! Would you mention how somebody is looking “strong” and ready to go for a baseball season? Would you mention how J Tatum bulked up after his first few seasons in the NBA? YEAH. Why the hell does it have to be so taboo to mention weight in distance running? It’s part of the gd sport.
And for the record, if Kerr is looking THICC in January who gives an F? Not being 5% body fat makes you way less susceptible to sickness and it’s not peak racing season

Why he should be better than Steve Cram, who all his life had only 3 best months in 1985?

I think the reason some people get defensive is this whole weight talk almost always leans towards "he/she could lose some weight". I think you're right, weighing more is good injury/illness prevention and when peaking, you should weigh less, but a lot of people have called Kerr outright fat while he runs a 3:52, which is outrageous.

I don't know quite what you mean to say, but Steve Cram did not only have that period at the top in 1985 when he ran 2:12/3:29/3:46. He was inaugural World 1500m champion in 1983 as well.
Great race by Kerr !!! I can’t believe Yearling is a 354 miler . barely able to break 410 a few years back . big improvement there . Brown not a huge surprise although his times have leveled off until now
Yearian qualified for the olympic trials last year so his come up isn’t a surprise

Not being overweight is a factor in performance same as not being underweight - both will harm performance.
Most important thing is to be a healthy weight for your specific body (Kerr naturally slightly larger). This usually happens as a result of the training, assuming sufficient fuelling.
i feel like 95% of the josh kerr obesity talk completely joking around. and who cares about the 5% of idiots who are serious. he has nothing to prove to anybody at this point.
Clydesdale, which makes it all the more impressive. I do worry that he has started to refer to himself in the 3rd person, however: “you might see josh in a Diamond league race this summer”. That usually means a huge confidence jump to another level or a catastrophic, hubris fueled fall.
Impressive. 4th on the overall British list, 1st on the indoor list.
I guess those Brooks spikes are up to scratch
Double British record, and 3rd fastest indoor mile all-time behind Kejelcha and El G. He will have Gentleman Tim's number this season.
I wouldn't go that far, but Kerr is a guy who seems to thrive off pressure he puts on himself. I think he's in the mix with Cheruiyot and Ingebrigtsen. If he can get into position and hang on the back of those two for 1200m, there's a good argument he has the best final 300m of them all. It wouldn't be a shock to see him win gold in Eugene, but right now, he's still third favorite.
One thing I find interesting about Kerr is that he's probably the only guy at the top level who is a pure 1500/mile guy. He's not exceptional at any other distance like Jakob or Mechaal, or even Hocker. Cheruiyot has a world class 800m PR (1:43) even though he doesn't really run it.
