She got initially popped in December, then tested positive again on the eve of the Olympics
Have not seen this reported anywhere. Please provide Link/Source.
What I have seen is a sample taken 25 December 2021 had an adverse result returned on 8 February - 45 days later. The "B" Sample result has not been tested/reported.
Additional tests are said to have been taken before and after 25 December, all negative.
According to the Washington Post, the sample was to have been analysed within 10 days.
The delay is a concern. From Wall Street Journal;
"Travis Tygart, the head of the U.S. anti-doping agency, also criticized the delay in getting Valieva’s result.
“It’s a catastrophic failure of the system,” he said. “It’s an awful set of facts that easily could have been prevented.”
The accredited Swedish laboratory that handled Valieva’s Dec. 25 test said it couldn’t comment on a pending case."
