We apologize. For some reason, the first link in the first post was deleted.
I'm glad to see Sage - whom I coached at Cornell - is back in the game.

GFY, not sure how you can hate on someone like Sage.

He's Peter Pan, not a man. No job, no wife, no kids, no responsibilities, makes little videos.

I don't think anyone legitimately hates him but I can see how he can rub people the wrong way. For one, he'd catch way less flack if he would shut up about veganism and other SJW topics. I don't care what his view on taxes or meat or doggie adoption is, just talk about running and STFU up about everything else. His ego is definitely not proportional to his level of "success" as a runner.
There's also this general weird man-child vibe that so many YouTuber give off - SJD, Sage, Elijiah Orr, Harry Runs, basically guys that are unsuccessful in the real world, have moderate success in running/ultrarunning, and then act like authorities dispensing general life advice and wandering into non-running topics. It's really hard to take them seriously.
Why do they have to tease us like that? Don Sage could be the next 40-something to be relevant like Lagat was.
You all saying you thought it was anyone but Canaday are trolling or new here. There are more posts about or by Canaday than 10x the other Sages combined.

Lets Run message board posters telling others to shut up about non-running topics and stick to running topics is the unaware dumb hypocrisy that makes this board what it is today.

LOL. Why would anyone be jealous of him? He lives in a 400 sf apartment. He’s done practically nothing in life. Seriously, who on LR would trade lives with him if they could? He ain’t Tom Brady, bro.

Think of Sage like a Steph Bruce or Jordan Hasay or Chris Derrick. Talent that just hangs around living on glory days and sponsors are suckers. We see it all the time even more so in the Trail world, which needs an absolute talent cleansing: runners like Hillary Allen, Michael Wardian, Anton Krupicka, Rob Krar, all taking up spots for the young guns. The ultra world is even worse with an average age of like 50 with the Pam Smiths of the world.

Serious question - but has this guy been relevant whatsoever in the past few years? Even before his health issues?
Hey now! Don't you be picking on Hillary! She's one of my faves! (And still racing well

The only people I see gushing about Anton still are on letsrun.

Peter Pan indeed. Great job, knock out partner, no kids yet, makes LIT-TRALLY the only running videos consumable for any level runner from MS through college giving down the middle time tested basic advice and knowledge on training, periodization, diet.... without any edgy hokey stuff. His videos have no rival, sadly. He is the Jack Daniels of you tubers. Ryan Hall cant focus on one thing, Nick S is kind of in and out of actual advice vs. silliness. Sage is the only one you can send out to your HS track team and trust what they get. Dont know him, but seems like an original mensch.
I just love to see the hate for Sage Canaday on here from anonymous keyboard warriors.
My guess is that a lot of it comes from jealousy. Sage is a far more talented and accomplished runner than 99.9% of LRC posters, who are middle-aged, washed up white guys who hate their wives, responsibilities, and meaningless office jobs.
Meanwhile Sage is reasonably successful in making a career out of running/coaching, has a super cool and accomplished partner (Sandi Nypaver), lives in a beautiful part of the world, and is low key famous in the running world. Say what you will about disliking him for being vegan or a man-child or whatever, but the truth is that most of you who throw barbs are probably suffering primarily from some degree of envy due to a combination of the above.
I'm excited to see Sage ramp up his training and go for the competition at Transgrancanaria and UTMB.
Yeah, just because someone doesn't have kids and has a non-traditional job they are "peter pan"? What B.S. Good for Sage for doing something he is good at, enjoys, and spreading knowledge to other runners of all abilities.

Little extreme, but yes I will say one should be a little envious of him. Bear in mind if you are over 50 like me, you see people like him in a different light. That is, he can do all this cool stuff that most of us would like to do, then with his pretty decent level education, he can get whatever a real job is a little later. Hitting it out of the park. House money.
Maybe he has to fall back some day on that Cornell certificate that I suspect most of us dont have either.
I am a middle aged white guy and I am jealous if his lifestyle. I looked him up online for some more info and was impressed by some of his victories, especially the Mt Washington race. Also, it gave his net worth as 1.5 million US🤯
