According to my 158 average heart rate for my 4 miles at 6:15 I think I am not running them too fast.
Then run them harder.
Sounds like you are too bought into train / race.
Let it loose instead of trying to deliver on your training.
Forget the times in training, race the guys who have the times you want. Focus on racing, not hitting splits.
