… and our daughters getting screwed from fair competitions. Fixed your thread!
I like the idea but there is probably some rule about not starting right away. I could see a rule that would DQ athletes who do this for being unsportsmanlike. I like how the crowd cheers loudly for the first woman finisher ignoring the physically advantaged athlete.
As an angry old white guy with three young daughters who can’t yet speak for themselves I will be. What we don’t need is far left extremists excluding broad swaths of society from any discussion that affects the society in which we all live.
The lunancy of allowing transwomen to dominate women's sports undermines tolerance of other, less damaging (albeit equally delusional) aspects of trans rights.

Yeah but look at who is "fighting" this "battle" politically in both DC and on Letsrun. Old white guys.
I don't understand why it matters who is fighting a particular battle, as long as he or she argues logically and truthfully. It seems rather simplistic to judge truth by the color and sex of the individual making a case on its behalf.
The women at Penn were going to boycott their last meet, but were afraid they wouldnt be allowed to swim at conference championships.
So I guess that the issue isn't that important to them then.

Ok I'll dumb it down. 10% of Letsrun freedom fighting white boomers are making a good faith argument about track and field, a sport they like. 90% are seething transphobes who pretend to care about women's sports, which they do not watch. They have lost political capital and rhetorical legitimacy.
Believing that all you need to do is argue logically and truthfully is, frankly, purposefully ignorant. You think NCAA women are going to support, rally behind, or associate with the same exact people who also think abortion should result in the death penalty? Who literally worship Donald Trump? Who degrade NCAA and pro female athletes at every opportunity? Because thats what the "conservative" 40+ white guys believe in this country. Temporarily aligning on one minute belief does not justify joining, especially when one side's reasoning is abject hatred.
You can insist that YOU are a different type of conservative, or that (*insert old white R senator here*) is actually a principled constitution-respecter and not a virulent transphobe. But nobody buys it. Nobody. Believes. It.
So women have to do it. You extremely-online Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson fans are rat poison to any pro-woman movement.
Yikes. One thing is clear. We don’t need you representing the needs of women.

Sorry, I'm right. This is an instance of two very different groups believing the same thing in a particular instance (IF the female athletes care). Similar to anti-vaxxers and r/antiwork. The two groups aren't going to join forces with each other and they want nothing to do with each other.

There are 224K female athletes competing in N.C.A.A. sports. Why is this small group of athletes expected to be the only ones to make a sacrifice? And for non-seniors, they might be suspended by the N.C.A.A. and not be allowed to swim next year.
Yikes for sure. Youre one of those people that shut down debate no matter what. People like you cant tolerate different opinions and will find a way to invalidate opposing views no matter what. Here, you assume everyone is a white male or a transphobe. Even if someone checked all the right boxes, even if someone said they were a black trans person who disagreed with you, youd probably find a reason to disregard their "wrong" opinion.

You don't seem to understand. Letsrun, specifically, is packed with the old white transphobes I described. There are 10x more threads about trans people (all negative) than women's ncaa track which is allegedly (but obviously not) the primary interest of these people.
Anyone, even an old white guy, who didn't have the extensive history of sexism, racism, and transphobia present on this board, would deserve the assumption of good faith when they speak on the matter. Typical conservatives, and most posters here, don't.
Me and you think the same thing should happen in the NCAA. But if I spent the last 20 years tyrading against every LGBT issue, people would be right to discount every thing I say. That's why this change won't come from typical conservative circles (no political capital). It will come from feminists, they will be called TERFs, and there will be an increased tension between feminists and transgender advocates.
That's the way it is. Letsrun messageboard quotes won't be on the front lines of this. Deal with it.
Ironic. You come across as pretty sexist, racist, and even ageist with l your tirading against old white males. I dont think you deserve the assumption of good faith.

A brief non-sequitr; Ben Shapiro is repugnant to many women, but Jordan Peterson gets a more mixed bag reaction. Women don’t like Peterson for torpedoing the gender pay gap narrative, but he’s also blamed the struggles of modern young men on Peter Pan syndrome and an endemic lack of strong fathers, both of which tend to be very popular stances with a lot of women. He also talks a lot about creating meaning, and transcending selfishness and hedonism. Liking Ben Shapiro is a red flag for a lot of women; liking Peterson seems less so.
Thinking that liking Ben Shapiro is a red flag is in itself a red flag.
Most of the population actually does not have strong opinions about political pundits such as Shapiro. Save for political figures such as Trump, Obama, Hillary, etc., most people don't have strong feelings. If someone does dislike Shapiro to a point where they view anyone associated with him negatively, that indicates that they probably believe a lot of things which just aren't true, including not just things about Shapiro himself but also their general worldview.
You can even consider this like a little litmus test. If someone absolutely despises Ben Shapiro, they have likely fallen prey to woke propaganda. Theres a very strong correlation between going woke and not liking Ben Shapiro.
I think Dave Chappelle said it best...
"I just want them to know...that I know...that's NOT real p*ssy down there."

Yeah, lots of white people fought for civil rights in the 60s, an entire nation of mostly white people fought to end slavery.. as long as people are arguing for something that is morally right, race and gender shouldn't be an issue. Such a horrible way to see the world through nothing but a racial lens.
The reason for the continued threads is it continues to be a problem. Biological men standing in the way of biological woman’s opportunity to fairly compete for top honors in a women’s only category. The trans female has every opportunity to have a meaningful life experience but not at the expense of biological woman, over which they have a physiological advantage in most sports due to being born and developed with male hormones. We can both care for and give life giving validation to trans women without ruining biological women’s sports.
