The 3000m top 10 list being full of long distance runners doesnt disprove my point, it actually backs it.
My point is not that Kiplimo sucks at the 3000, my point is that he's BETTER at nearly everything else he does or at least should have more potential in everything else. The same is true for all those long distance runners who are in the 3000m top 10. Theyre great 3k runners, but they were even better at nearly everything else.
Compare that to a miler. If youre a miler, the 3k should be your second best, or maybe even your best event outright (though you might care about it less than the 5k). Thats just not the case if youre a long distance runner though.
I do agree here. Kiplimo sucks. Yes, at 1500, 3000, 5000, 10000. Only place where he can win in is in a distance in which no quality runner competes. A good half marathon time would be 56 high.
Fact of the matter is that Kiplimo was destroyed by a bunch of B-runners in the Olympic 5000 final, the same runners that Jakob destroyed a month before that. Should be clear how well Kiplimo would do against Jakob. Jakob has only gotten faster since 2020. Kiplimo has not. He's plateaued.
