The dude that said Hocker would be right on him the whole way in the 1500 is insane. Hocker is nowhere near Jakob.
The Steeple is a tough event and there is no way he's going to run more races after that on the same night. At 1978 championship, Rono ran a 13:22 in a heat but didn't run the final after winning the Steeple.
Jakob could probably run a 7:55 steeple at least. The NCAA steeple is nowhere near as strong as the 5k or 1500, he could probably jog an 8:30 for the win. That would be nothing.
