Robert Johnson is a complete scumbag and needs to get canned. Hopefully there’s enough going on to make it happen

Oregon and Nike are terrible institutu5 and both should be burned to the ground. It would be good for humanity and good for T&F. Both have far too much influence over the sport.
Does any one company or university have this kind of sway over the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc? No and that should be true for T&F too.
Women man... they'll get you every time.
Are you guys kidding me? Nike has given more to the sport than any other brand and its not even close. I think its sad that the old guard of Phil, Capriotti, Mark, etc. is starting to move on, doesn't bode well for the sport. You may not like those characters, but at the end of the day they fought for our sport and made it what it is today. Without a vanguard like that t&f, not to mention xc is sure to crumble.

Exactly. These guys actually made sure that good track and field athletes were supported and compensated. The future people in charge will probably be self serving and take the bag for themselves, leaving the athletes scattering for scraps.
Knight has already put together a committee and an endowment to ensure that the sport is supported going forward. He knows that Nike will not fund the sport like it did while he ran the show.

Just cancel all college sports altogether. Keep everything on the club level and get back to teaching.
Rumors that Md will be limiting competition in all sports.
College sports has helped far more kids than it has hurt. Yes there are programs that abuse the system and there are students who do not take advantage of the opportunity they have been given. But there are a lot of kids who receive enormous benefits.
There was a whole book I read about how corrupt the University of Oregon was towads their athletes.
At the same time, I gotta appreciate them building the greatest track stadium in this country's history.
Bowerman would urinate on athletes in the shower. This goes way back.

You heard it here first.
The new olympics-torch shaped tower will never be lit! Not with a real olympics flame at least.

This isn't a positive. No one company or university should have this much power over a sport. You don't see one sponsor controlling any other sport. Alabama, for all their football success, isn't a significant administrator of the NFL. T&F needs to get get out of the chains that these institutions force on them and start to act like a real sport just like the NFL.
Shocked the OU hasn’t announced any formal internal investigations into misuse of sports performance and/or abusive behavior by the coaching staff. Interestingly enough, head coach Johnson’s contract is set to expire June 30, 2022. Normally most coaches receive a contact extension well ahead of the final year of their agreement. Not sure how to read into that.
Big deal.
How many students did that freak USC MD rape?
How about all those parents that paid to get their kid into USC?
How about the entire UNC basketball team having others take tests for them?
How about Penn State coaches doing bad things in showers?
This will blow over.
Also interesting that Ken Goe requested documents for this back in August but received no records

The same NFL that according to Kaepernick treats athletes like slaves? ;)

There are 3 investigations underway centered on the Oregon track program. Safe Sport looking into complaints of violations such as those detailed in Oregonian article. A Title IX investigation has also been launched by UO into the women’s track program due to specific accusations against track staff. Finally a NCAA investigation is also underway into the Duck track program. Give it to the Ducks for pulling off the early triple crown so quickly into the new year!
I'm curious what 2022 UO male commits think about this; what about their mothers?
Can parents trust UO coaches with their children?
Children?? This is the problem with today's society. College student =! Child.
Johnson is done at UO. Only decision now is how to part ways that does the least damage to UO. There are too many powerful track alums fed up with Johnson’s smugness, arrogance and direction of the program away from in-season home meets for the team to compete in. This just is the final straw. Discussions on going on who to lead the program the other key element before things are finalized.
Wait until the real story breaks. Body scans are the tip of the iceberg. Robert Johnson is a creep, and has had multiple sexual relationships with former athletes. Ask his Former wife Jackie. She has multiple Facebook posts eluding to her creep of an x husbands misconduct.
Let’s not forget it’s still not public that Alberto Salazar was on the hiring committee for Oregon Track in the last two hires while he was being investigated. Want to talk a smoking gun? How about AlSal being on the committee for a university to choose who gets hired? Uofo doesn’t want that to come up.
The u of o and people close to the program know there is far worse than far shaming. People close to the program have wondered for the better part of a decade how coach Johnson hasn’t been exposed. Well, slowly that time seems to be coming to light. There are far too many former athletes willing to speak on Robert’s behavior towards females. Bill Cosby 2.0 is coming.
next U of O coach will be a black female.
