Super Dave.
Super Dave.
That he allegedly broke every bone in his body.

But not the kind he was using. He invented bike stunts before the invention of the stunt bike.
The haters can't deny that his stuff was dangerous. He was badly injured many times.
he wore the rebel flag better than most.
There was a video about another motorcycle stuntman, who rode a wheelie across the guard-rail of a bridge, that explained the process better for how to survive a stunt.
The fact that I’m one of few 25-and-unders who is familiar with him and a slew of other 1930s-70s celebs and media
He was a fake stunt creator

That was great. Thanks!
He was the hardest working man in show business!
You know the show biz saying "go break a leg"? Evel took that seriously!
The glory days of LRC when Evel used to post here, of course! Early 2000s.

But you have to view it through the right lens. You can throw a dart and hit an MX rider today who is regularly jumping a motorcycle further than Evel ever did. But that's how most things are. Could Roger Staubach take apart a modern NFL secondary?
Remember the bikes Evel was riding at the time though; heavy Harley-Davidsons with inadequate suspension, weight distribution great for the road, horrible when airborne. If he got out of shape in the air there was no saving it.Today's bikes are feather-light and whippy with incredible suspension; riders can whip the bike upside down, nearly backwards, do double flips, massive 300' leaps off desert dunes, etc, and still bring it back for a safe landing. Evel on today's bikes would be doing the same stuff as modern riders..
The biggest problem Evel would have today would be standing out from the crowd; back in Evel's heyday there was hardly anyone else doing the same stuff. Joe Einhorn comes to mind, maybe a few others. Today YouTube is 100% saturated with videos of young guys doing insane sh*t on a daily basis.
I know he had a ton of injuries but I'm actually really impressed he didn't kill himself...man, when I was a kid Evel was IT!
I mostly remember him as the huge ahole who went after a journalist that posted facts about shortcomings in his personal life (facts) and Evel pit him in the hospital with a baseball bat

Two all time greats in Norm Macdonald and Bob Einstein. One of the few NML episodes that you can still watch the whole thing without having to pay for on Netflix. May they rest in peace.

Roger Staubach would be far and away the best passer in NFL if he played today.
Come on, son.
